Great review, Chris. You have a soothing voice, you could be the voice of Kindle books. I've just started this novel, and plan to read 20 pages a day so I finish in around 1 month.

HOW ABOUT THIS: GET ME REWRITE: A vividly realized, character driven, opinionated, passionate, thought-provoking, and compelling near future cli-fistory focused on global warming, economic, and sociological themes. Though often slow and fairly loose in terms of plot, I found the experience of reading this to be both entertaining and engaging. Likely not a book for everyone, but fascinating reading nonetheless. Also the character named Gen Octaviasdottir most likely is a homage to SF pioneer Octavia Butler, what do you think?

One thing I enjoyed about this book is the way these characters drifted together constantly, not just due to bring in the same building but by being a part of their community.

Definitely give Aurora a try! His stuff and Neal Stephenson's stuff definitely has some great similarities. They're both very talented writers and know what they're doing.

I have had this book in cart on the Barnes & Noble website for a while, but never pulled the trigger. It sounds like I may have to buy it next time I get a 20% off coupon!

Go for it! Totally worth the time and fascinating to read. If you've already found yourself intrigued by the premise, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Aurora was my read of the year last year, 2312 was a masterpiece. I was let down a little by this book, I felt it was two hundred pages too long.

Reading it right now. I'm finding it an easier read than Aurora.

Really? That's interesting, I feel like Aurora has so much more of a story to it and is lot more approachable. But either way I'm glad this is working for you in some way! Hope you've enjoyed reading it.

+TheReading Rhodes Well, as it has gone on I've gotten less interested. Thinking of DNF'ing it. I both read and listened to Aurora (I'd listen whenever I was in a position where I couldn't physically read it, like while driving). It made me enjoy it even more! It was on KZbin. I recently joined Overdrive but the problem is that my library doesn't have an audiobook of New York 2140, so I've been forced to read it all the way, which has gotten tougher. I can't get Hoopla where I'm at, so I'm kinda stuck without the audiobook. I don't do audiobooks enough to make audible worth it, and want to save my first free audiobook for something else if I ever sing up for audible. Not sure what I'll do with it. I have the hardcover for another week.
