She deserves all the success in the world! She is an example of what all black businesses should be. She ensured that she can service her community by accepting EBT. A business that considered the community it was in. So beautiful!! ❤

This is the variety I want to see in black food businesses. Unfortunately too many black businesses stick to selling the same unhealthy food items. I’m black and I don’t like soul food being the main default culinary experience. I would support this woman in a heartbeat and any black business owner who can branch out from the norms.

Cakes and desserts are healthy?
@kaseworkАй бұрын
@@vuksgitau if you watched the video you would’ve heard her say she doesn’t use preservatives, only high quality ingredients, everything is made fresh daily. Now, a normal minded individual would know that eating cake and pastries everyday multiple times a day regardless of if it came from this bakery or not, is unhealthy for you.

I’m Black and don’t want to see an overload of African & Caribbean food either. Black folks are not a monolith nor is the culinary experience. So it’s interesting how you centered “Soul Food” as unhealthy it praised pastries and baked goods. 🤔
@kaseworkАй бұрын
@@foreverfly3113 I don’t think she was really praising pastries over soul food. If I’m not mistaken, I think she was speaking more so about diversity within our own community. Fact is, there’s tons of black owned vegan spots in NY…this day this particular bakery owner was being interviewed because she wanted to bring this experience of luxe pastries to her ppl. Let’s not take away from her beautiful story please. You can support her and not indulge in pastries ❤️

"Brown & Black people destroying the neighborhood" 🤔🤨 A neighborhood that has historically been theirs. Sounds like manipulate talk from people angry they can't take it over. Blessings to this beautiful soul. She's showing others how to follow your passion. Step up and step out. 🙌🏽👏🏽❤️ 🥐

Yeah. I see it. Subhan Allah. I like the branding and positivity. I was just thinking yesterday that French cooking is like a science, and she confirmed that when she said it is "very technical". But African Americans can get down in the kitchen and step up to those levels. Have no doubt the pastries are as good as they look. Shout out to Imam Siraj Wahhaj one of my favorite brothers in Bed-Stuy...though I've never been to NY. The Imam is getting older so got to shout out appreciation to men like that. Bridged some divisiveness in America very well. And God Bless Mike Bloomberg on the HBCUs donations. Shakur Falinafsihi - Gratitude is for the benefit of the person's own soul.

Cultural appropriation.
@IamLeightonАй бұрын
If we're being fair, if this young lady were Caucasian, most commenters here would likely call this cultural appropriation. So, by the same logic from the "wokeism" perspective, this should also be considered cultural appropriation.
@foreverfly3113Ай бұрын
No, because she gave the French their due credit. It’s cultural appropriation when a person try to pass over inventions or creations as their own. Example, Sothern Food is actually “Soul Food” but was colonized to make it palatable to racist.
