Seth: 1. I am the police officer you thanked at min 7 of this video and it was such a pleasure meeting you. You’re so motivational and inspiring…THANK YOU!! 2. I’m sorry that you didn’t have the race you wanted to have but, that’s the marathon for you. The important thing to remember is that we live to run another day and as long as you have that drive to turn that door knob then anything is possible and you’ll have the race you want. And you sir, thank you for being out there doing what you do daily most Importantly, and also being part of Seth’s marathon experience. I have ran 5 NYC marathons out of total of 14 marathons myself, (not at Seth’s level lol) but very low so sub 3hrs, as well as my girlfriend of 4 years (ironically) who’s ran her 1st in 2018 and is soon to be police officer in December, starting her career in the NYPD photo unit before entering the academy this past summer. The NYC marathon is a very special kind of marathon to say the least. For the 5 times I’ve ran it, I’ve learned something new about myself each time. It’s like one epic saga, except starring you and about 40 thousand others and even though everyone’s plot synopsis is to finish the race, their stories and journey are all different. God bless you and God bless you Seth. Sorry your marathon story did not go as planned but you finished and that’s all that matters. There’s always next time with a new focus, journey and with a new story to tell. The lesson of the day is…..you’ll learn a lot about yourself running a marathon. Cheers Seth. 🎉

My suggestion is do another marathon immediately! Do a few! Find your sweet spot. My motto being an endurance athlete and mountain climber has always been pace your self, the body knows what it can do and will speak. But cant avoid unexpected problems, which is why you need to try again soon! Go out for a casual marathon dont try to win the pros lol just let your body do the talking! 👍👊

All to come to a crash into the cold reality. I’ve been there. I’ve had that post season depression that can truly hurt. You can tell just by the way you carried yourself that walking was breaking you and I want you to know that we understand and support you. You motivate thousands of people every day to wake up and turn the door knob, and now you need to know that we believe in you. You can keep turning that door knob like We all know you will. I ran Baltimore Marathon in October of this year (2021) and bonked around mile 16. The goal was sub-3:20 and hit an even split of 1:39:42, right on the money. The wheels fell off pretty hard at around mile 16 and I ended with a 3:45:55. It took every once of mental strength to keep going, and I remember that one of the things that I was telling myself was "sled". You (Seth) wrote that on your hand for one of your races, as a reminder of the workouts where you were pushing the sled around the gym to train your quads/hamstrings to embrace the pain. But you wrote it on your hand to remind yourself to keep pushing that sled. I remember that distinctly and kept telling myself the same thing during my October marathon. To see your race, and see how someone so experienced and elite has days like the one I had, is incredibly encouraging. Especially considering that you kept going. I felt I had no reason to finish the marathon when I bonked. The 3:20 pacer passed me, then the 3:30, then the 3:40 and it just felt worse and worse. But at that point, it wasn't about the PR, it was about mentally persevering. Thank you Seth for encouraging us, for being transparent, for being so raw about what you do. You showed us that the job was not done, even if the goal was out of reach.

Keep your head up man. I ran the Indianapolis monumental marathon as an elite and had a similar situation. Was in great shape for 2:26-2:27 and in pace to beat my pr of 2:29:36 through 20 miles, wasn't feeling fantastic but solid enough to at least pr. Quarter mile after 20 miles my body shut down and stiffened up instantly and came to a jog the rest of the time. I couldn't recall where I was, I felt dizzy, vision kept going out, couldn't run in a straight line and ended up losing 11 minutes just in the last 10k. Ended up suffering from hypothermia because of the cold conditions. I'm only 24 so I have many great years ahead of me. Just got to keep my head up and stay positive. I find I'm better at the half marathon at the moment but God will give me my day in the marathon. God bless

Great work man. Heart breaks for you....but how epic was the sub-elite experience! That's amazing!!! And the start...how cool man. Can't wait to see you tow that start line next year!

Well done, brother! I was wondering what happened, and I’m still not totally sure, but it doesn’t matter. I so appreciate your openness and transparency and willingness to show the big highs and perhaps the frustrating lows. Much love to you today and always.

This blog made me emotional, Seth! Wow! Thank you for showing the reality of running. Sometimes everything is perfect and other times things don’t go as planned. But we keep on moving on tuning that door knob. Thank you for the daily inspiration. Because of your blogs I took on running in the fall of 2019. Ran my first marathon in December 2019 and ran a 3:37. This year I ran a 3:04 and qualified for Boston. Yesterday I ran my fastest half marathon of 1:29. So keep inspiring folks like me that never ran a mile before in my life and now we are dreaming big because of you! Thanks Seth! Much love!

This inspires me to keep training for the marathon Seth. I'm new to marathon training and to be honest it has really been beating me up and I was not sure that I was going to continue with it until now. Your progress in distance running really puts things in perspective and makes it all worth while. My man you were next to Bekele! He is definitely one of my childhood heroes.

Hi Seth, I thought this would be a good time to join as a member. You are such an inspiration, especially after such an unfortunate event. I just ran my first ever race a week and a half ago (Jerusalem half marathon, 02:00:10 which was 10 seconds more than my goal but still great) - your videos helped me so much along the way.

Absolutely gutted for you Seth, soooo much hard work was put in just to be taken away with a stomach issue, I hope you nail down what the problem was, your filming was superb and everything looked great , seeing you walking was very unpleasant to watch, I love you man and I can’t wait for your next challenge BMB 💪🏃♂️

Seth, your positive outlook even when things don't go as planned is amazing and a lesson to us all. We were with you on this journey and hurt for you, but your positive reactions to it all is a lesson in itself. I look up to your strength and perseverance.

Unreal vlog and footage, kudos for finishing Seth you are a beast. I started running last year when everything shut down with covid. You’re channel has kept me motivated with great content and insight, I got to say it definitely helped me go sub 3 in my first marathon last month (Manchester) uk. Stay strong, stay humble and keep turning that door knob. 💪🏻

Seth... Thanks for being real. Thanks for being you. You inspire me to turn that doorknob each and every day. S**t happens (literally), but the fact that you pushed through and still crossed that line, just shows what a great representative you are of our sport. Onward and upward, my friend.

Seth, you are a legend and the fact that this one didn't go to plan doesn't and won't mean that you won't come back stronger. Fantastic production values here as well. Thank you so much for showing us behind the scenes at the start! Yours in running, Ian.
