It's just finding the one that resembles NY pizza which is why the first two missed the mark as the style was more Italian rather than NY. When I was stationed in Italy, I was surprised by just how different their pizza was from what I grew up on in America. I would say James' pizza seemed to be the closest to what I remember being served in Italy. It seemed the thing about Italian pizza was it was not overly cheesy and definitely not greasy. So, if we're talking the best in New York, I would think the best American-style pizza, and that's most likely going to be uber-cheesy and definitely greasy. By my reasoning, I guess Scarr's pizza would win this particular contest. :-)

Ok listen, while NYC style pizza may have a look of cheese on it - original Italian/ Neapolitan pizza looks EXACTLY like the one at Lombardi’s. You don’t need all that cheese, it’s a perfect specimen.

DarkWolf649 neapolitan pizza doesn‘t need additional cheese. The mozzarella on it stays pretty moist and stringy due to the short backing time. Try it if possible and you will see that the original way is definately the best way.🤙🏼

Nice follow up to the pineapple question. I'm guessing you could eat Pizza in Manhattan for a year and not sample it all. Those comparisons were "kinda unfair", in the words of your expert. Very, very interesting, though. The "best pizza" is the one you like the best -- there is no one "best pizza": you can choose yours, and someone else can choose theirs.

Its because KZbin is a tough place to keep making money on, so they're trying to be as competitive as they can be by replicating other more popular video types. Keeps them relevant/more hits etc. I miss them too, heck I just miss proper cooking shows in general. But they've gotta do what they gotta do.

I have lived all over the US and there is one type of pizza that you will find is almost always the local go to: pepperoni. NYC, ?Queens, Garfield, NJ, Johnstown, PA, or anywhere else I've been. Your Bon Appetite guide knows what's what.

Always Fun to see the tourists hit the touristy places.....you want the best Pizza on the East Coast, go across the river to Fairfield NJ and go-to Puzos or Kenville NJ and go to Joe's. So here's the problem. When you are judging three foods that are the same type, you need to keep everything as similar as possible. The first 2 pizzas were fairly similar with the sauce being different, but then you get to the third pizza and add an entirely different ingredient, you can't judge it with the other 2 because you suddenly made it into a whole different thing.

Crooklyn has lost so many good pizza shops over the years. Nowadays way too many hipsters there. If you like new wave vegan, gluten free crap pizza shops, Brooklyn's your borough. pizza is mostly about the dough. a little bit of whole grain flour added in for flavor, aged dough for about a day, and wood fired oven, i like to see lots of bubbles with a bit of smoky dark spots but not burned

Yes, Apples to Pears. Just order the Pepperoni from each place. Pepperoni is classic American pizza. It's everywhere you go in the US across all styles of pizza. Every pizza place has a pepperoni pizza. It makes apples to apples easy.
