Your videos make me miss trains with front windows so much...I'm grateful for my memories of discovering and appreciating the infrastructure that makes everything work as I grew up. It's so easy to take these things for granted, which is what allows the powers that be to cut corners when it comes to maintaining and improving the system. If you do a bad job maintaining streets and highways, drivers notice and complain. If you do a bad job maintaining a rail system, passengers decide the train crew just felt like being late today or whatever, instead of demanding the system be treated with respect so it can continue to work and even improve over time.
@wtaenyc2 жыл бұрын
We appreciate you for taking the time to share your valid opinions and thoughts about the situation and how things can be improved. We will continue to send positive blessings to all those folks who can make the necessary change, so as to make this system become the most spectacular one in the world. It’s a pleasure to bring you back to the days when looking out the front window was a blessing to, like you stated, enjoy the views of the fantastic infrastructure that keeps NYC, “the city that never sleeps.” This is why we stand by saying that “New York City is Underground,” which ties into how everything works.

J train extension! Yayyyy… The J train would go south from Jamaica Center, ending up along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in a circular-like tube. Underground. First stop- 109 Av - accessible, island platform, ordinary design, and connection to the Q111, Q113, and Q114 bus services. The station would spam from 108th Avenue to 109th Avenue, because more residents live near 108th Avenue, while there are more connections at 109th. So, it is basically two birds in one stone. I guess station could be: 108-109 Avs. Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, underground and fast. Next station- Linden Blvd - accessible, side platform, nice designs, and connection to the X63, Q111, Q113, and Q114 bus services. Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. Next stop- Foch Blvd - accessible, side platform, ordinary design, and connection to the Q111, Q113, Q114, and QM21 bus services. Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. Next stop at- 130 Av - accessible, side platform, ordinary design, and connection to the Q111, Q114, and QM21 bus services. Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, underground and fast. Next station-- 137 Av - accessible, side platform, ordinary design, and connection is available to the Q111, Q113, Q114, and QM21 bus services. Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. The tunnel would be circular-shaped again, as the line is going under Belt Parkway, and the parkway is below Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. The next and last stop- Farmers Blvd - accessible, side platform, cool designs, and connection is available to the Q3, Q111, Q113, and Q114 bus services. I have another planned extension, but I’ll do that later. But for now, Buh - Bye!

I love watching your videos😄😄👌. They are addictive as well as genius! In response to the "without you" list in the beginning, I must say also "without you" MTA, many of lives wouldn't have been saved as it did mine. Growing up in the '80's during an extensive recession as a teenager, there were many of robberies and muggings in NYC and I was invited many of times to participate in crime but thanks to the MTA especially the subways, I was able to tour that wonderful city of New York and well as the complexities of the New York subways. Unfortunately, my family and I left NYC in 1986 for military purposes but I always thank the MTA for changing my life and making me the law abiding citizen I am today and I wonder how many lives the subways have saved especially among the railfans that can out there on the wrong side of life but instead video taping the subways and buses to occupy their time. That is why I will only use the MTA as my form of transportation when I visit NYC and I say this with a lot of gratitude and love of NYC and the MTA. "Without You.........."!

I will kiss it's abutments the next time that I get there; Excuse my bluntness ). Since the tracks are in the center of the bridge, you don't get the million dollar view of the East River like you would from the Manhattan Bridge.45:42 The former trolley terminal off through the beams to the left.47:33 The newer connection to the Christie Street connection for the 6th Ave IND, now used by the M train.50:55 Oh my gawd, CHAMBERS STREET ! The (J)uliette is another favorite line that I like to do. I have the easiest time working the line. It's only when I get to Broad Street that's a bitch I have to be in my conductor have to get the home was mostly out of the train so we can relay the train to go back to Jamaica Center. Of course the 3 slow sections the Crescent Street S Curve, Going from Alabama Avenue to Broadway Junction, And going from Marcy Avenue to the Williamsburg Bridge are pretty tedious sometimes.
@wtaenyc2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. We can definitely see how it can be slightly tedious, to go through your experiences the way you mentioned but either way, we take this time to thank you for your service to this city. It’s truly appreciated. 🫡

Is this an original BMT 1880's structure? Why was the Myrtle Ave El torn down? And what is the deal with the inconsistent 3rd middle track on this line?
@wtaenyc2 жыл бұрын
Great observation and questions. As to WHY, we would love if the right folks could answer that question for you, as we are not quite certain as to the reasons behind that. The 3rd middle track is possibly inconsistent due to the island platforms at the stations where passengers are able to board either the uptown or downtown train.

Once when I went to NYC to see family, i found out My Mom and Stepdad at this time had moved into a cheap apartmemt right next to the tracks: cool, i thought! They put me up in the master bedroom right next to the tracks, me Not realizing that the windows were not double paned: that night i went to sleep: and i Promptly fell out of bed the first time the train passed by, not realizing how Loud that was gonna be!! I had wondered why they were sleeping in the smaller room next to the kitchen!! XD (they dont live there anymore)

It’s truly amazing that they are able to live there, while having to endure the noise. We can only hope that their windows are insulated and as the system continues to improve, it would become quieter, so those folks can get a peaceful night’s rest.

@anonymous37389 ай бұрын
I think the only positive thing about the J and Z trains is that it is known for sounding just like the singer, Jay-Z. Other than that, it’s inconvenient because skip-stop service is too confusing. Plus, it wouldn’t be possible to travel to the next station since the trains are alternating stops. There’s a provision for a center express track so an express service could be convenient and it would make it much faster to travel between Lower Manhattan and Jamaica. This provision is also found on the New Lots Line but I think the Jamaica Line needs it more.
