word is that the R211 series run on new trucks, however they look like the same Kawasaki KW-155 trucks the R160 ride on.

Eessentially the same truck updated current collector and springs to compensate for weight differences. other than that there KW155’s.

To bad the R211Ts can not run Express on the A C lines or any other Express lines. I tell you one thing they are definitely gonna have the R211Ts run express once they get the bugs out of them I tell you that right now.

@@leecornwell5632 The R211Ts C ran on the Northbound 8th Ave Express last weekend south of 59th last weekend. It’s just the longer stretches that pose the issues. Have to make sure people are safe. They’ll figure out some type of suppression system.

So what exactly can be done to the current cars to remove the long segment restriction?

With the currents T's don't believe theres much that can be done. LACMTA is going with a water mist fire suppression system which brings them in compliancy for the NFPA 130/2020 with there gangways. NYCT would need something similar.

Another option come to think of it might be a tunnel sprinkler or mist system outside the cars.
