We stay at New York-New York every time we go. The rooms aren't the best but they're always free always free food because we stay there every time. I love the atmosphere of the hotel itself, and the area outside to sit and relax. I love that it only takes me two minutes to get to my room. I've stayed in almost every place in Vegas and this is always my go-to

Its definitely my favorite hotel as far as atmosphere and how it looks. It aged well. It still looks relatively new and its almost 30 years old. The convenience of everything is unbeatable.

You are right, the room was right out of a Best Western. I am sure everyone has heard about the recently announced remodeling of the rooms with a much better NY decor and vibe. From what I have seen they look very cool. Once the remodel is done next year I think you should re-visit and re-review. I think I will try staying there next year.

I would think this place might be worth a revisit, given the recent remodel of the rooms. I haven’t stayed here myself, but from what I’ve seen, they really went hard on the NY theming in the new Soho rooms. I also see that there’s a new steakhouse called Nusr-Et that looks more your style than Gallagher’s. Might be worth a look 👀🤷🏼‍♂️

Awesome vid as usual. I just got back from Vegas on Saturday. Trip was so much fun. I really like the vibe at New York New York BSD you are right it does look so cool on the outside. I ate at Toms Urban and it was pretty good and the outdoor dining by the Brooklyn Bridge was nice ! I definitely agree with you about the rooms ...I’ll be skipping those . Depending on what time you check in and whether or not you have guaranteed early check-in, you should get an acceptable Strip-View, or a Mountain View, room four out of five visits. You are most likely to get a bad view if you arrive before 9am and you have guaranteed early check-in. You should try to arrive between noon and 3pm if you want a better room view. You may want to pass on the early check-in cost, leave your luggage at the bell captain station and get a much better guest room by doing later check-in. 😉

The best room in NY-NY is not listed. It's in the Empire Tower. If any of the penthouse rooms aren't booked, you can get what is called spa penthouse connector. It's a two bed room with a mirrored jacuzzi spa in the bathroom, his and her sinks, shower and private toilet. It is worth the upgrade price and the elevator is an express to the higher floors with your room key needed to allow the elevator to reach them.

We just booked for May and our average room rate is 21.38 for 8 nights before resort fee. We look for a cheap price as we do not spend much time in the room. We generally only eat once in the hotel we stay in. We prefer to spend our money on other things than the room. Comparing to the Aria 83.25 a night. It may be a lot nicer hotel but we end up saving 495.00 and can spend on shows, food and gambling.

Thanks for sharing. A place I would walk thru but never stay for sure. When you check in do you advise asking for a room that has been updated with a view. I am sure its based on availability but it could help. Nice to see the large crowds starting to come back.

Yo Nick! Usually, I stay at places where all the rooms are updated with the same features and amenities, such as Aria or Wynn. I had no idea that NY NY possessed rooms that were outdated. To answer your question: no, I didn't ask. But after being burned at MGM Grand and now NY NY, I'll never make that mistake again.

Been to vegas a few times and have stayed at NewYork NewYork a 3 times, I am booked to stay there again this November I can honestly say never had and issues with the hotel, think you got the wrong room should have complained, think the rating was a bit harsh but that's your choice, overall this is a great hotel to stay in good casino, food and staff very helpful, keep the reviews up its always good to see what else is on offer around Vegas.

I've stayed at NYNY many times always in a Park Avenue Deluxe room. I think you would've liked that room better even though it is a lower tier room. Casino is great at NYNY and even though I stay at other MGM properties now I always do some heavy gambling at NYNY.

We stay mostly at nyny it is our favorite place yes you got the standard room we get spa suites and they are a better choice very comfortable beds with luxury bedding and the decor is art deco if you don't get a high up floor your view is obscured because of the hotel building style outside we have stayed at most properties and go back to nyny

I would suggest Planet Hollywood instead. I’ve been to Cavo Tagoo, Six Senses and Soneva... Trust me when I tell you, for the most part in Vegas bring your own toiletries ( shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and oral hygiene products ). The only hotels that might have decent amenities are Wynn, Caesar’s Palace, Cosmopolitan or Bellagio. You’re not going to enjoy Bvlgari or Aqua di Parma anywhere in Vegas.

We are doing a comp night at PARK MGM that Friday, then comp nights at NYNY Sat and and Sun and then a couple nights mid strip at the (all too low rated IMO) Flamingo where I don't have resort fees so mid week got a room for two nights for $22 LOL.

You should consider getting the players cards for the properties you stay at. MLife covers all the MGM properties and Caesar's has their expansive club too. Even if you never gamble, the stay and dining alone will cut the price some. It will always be less expensive than the 3rd party sites.

You are absolutely correct - I could’ve and probably should’ve done that in Vegas. My only issue is maintenance and tracking - if I start booking directly with every hotel group, I’m going to have 20 loyalty programs at the end of the year. Expedia’s rewards system pales in comparison to M Life and Caesar Rewards, but at least it’s a centralized program where I can collect points and benefits across all the different hotel ecosystems. Expedia is terrible, trust me, I know, but the convenience and ease of booking and collecting points for any hotel property keeps a stronghold on me. The lack of a major competitor for them doesn’t help my ability to break away either.

@@Coolist That's what I figured. You seem to travel a ton, and I'm sure you know your way around the loyalty clubs. I'm sure having more junk in your inbox can get cumbersome. But when you said $150, I was like "No. That's a $45 room" (from experience) Regardless, keep up the sweet videos. You do a great job. Also, I live near Detroit..if you ever have to leave the airport around here..there are a handful of Andiamo restaurants in the area. Check em out. (One in the D casino in Vegas too!) on one of my three nights (weekday), that room was $50, which is an accurate and reasonable price. But for my two weekend nights, they tripled the price, which is common practice, to $150/night. Really appreciate your support of the Channel by the way 🤝. I've been to the D casino before, but at that time I hadn't yet developed my fondness for Andiamo's. Next time I'm there I'll definitely have to check it out. I really like Detroit because I'm from the Midwest originally and also spent a lot of time there over the last decade doing business. The Birmingham area is ultra 😎

The reason your your room was crap was you booked on Expedia, they leave those rooms for them, never book on Expedia for anything. The other rooms were the same exact room updated. Yes, I loved it so much that I went their twice! It was one of the most authentic Irish pubs that I've encountered on the strip. If I was in that area of the strip again I would absolutely stop there for a delicious pint or two 🍻

New York New York was the hotel that I stayed at for my first time in Vegas in 2013-2014. Never again! All though the view from my room was great (I had a view of the strip and part of the roller coaster), I wasn't impressed with the room, quick eats/fast food options, and the vibe of the casino. I stayed at Harrah's for my second trip and that was a lot better

I disagree about the vibe. The only part I didn't like was the older rooms that look similar to a travelodge. So the room condition I agree with. And this room actually looks better then the ones I've stayed at there. It looks updated with used furniture from another hotel. But as far as atmosphere and the casino I live it there. Plenty of great looking women and the casino layout is great. Easy to get to your room and out. At the Tropicana suite I had to walk 15 minutes to get outside.

NYNY is probably worth a revisit/rereview now that the rooms have been remodeled. They are very NY themed now. So it should be slightly better on that front. Obviously, that doesn't help the other criticisms (lack of luxury options, etc) but the theme should be a little better now.

Just found your site, nice job. Stayed here and agree, fun property vibe but rooms are very underwhelming, same with the pool. Based on your name, you seem to be looking for that luxury feel, which NY is not. I enjoyed all the restaurants, agreed, they are not fine dining. You missed out on the Piano Bar, one of the best places to visit in Vegas-so much fun. It was probably closed while you were there. I would stay there again (actually had to cancel this week’s trip to Vegas NY/NY due to Covid-was supposed to check in this afternoon) because…in Vegas, how important is the room? For me, a sub-par room is not a deal-breaker. If I’m in Vegas, I’m not in my room so why pay for a nicer room!!! Thanks for all the reviews!!

Been to NYNY more than 20 times. We don't care about the room because all we do in there is sleep. I will be going back in August, being from Brooklyn, we love Nathans, huge pastrami sandwiches, and Sicilian pizza. We treat NYNY as our home away from Brooklyn.

lol, I am from New York City, NYC is one of the most diverse city in USA, you made laugh so hard with your disappointment with the hotel. But if you live in New York we have food from every country, in every street, THAT IS PART OF THE Authenticity of New York, and New York is casual, people are not fancy here, only when you go to work you dressed nice but you but you are incline to buy a hotdog for lunch in your suit, depends what is around your job. I can see that hotel surroundings that is how NYC looks, best pizza is in NYC, we are known for hot dogs but we also like real food and we can eat Mexican as well Arabic food, or Chinese, Indians and we enjoy it all.

NYNY is my go to hotel in the cooler seasons. I love the vibe in the casino, easy access to the strip, and dining choices. IMO, the park avenue rooms are nicer than the premier rooms even though they are not marketed that way.

Gallagher's was definitely was hidden gem of a steakhouse, and I would've never discovered it had I not stayed at New York New York. So in a way, the stay was somewhat fruitful.

I think the reason you got the dud is because you booked thru an external site in Expedia - it's a known thing over here in UK that you'll get a smaller room if you do that, often up to twice the size difference! They basically reserve the better rooms for those who book direct

@@femmedenise3598 it's a known thing in the UK! Not lies at all thank you very much! It may be different for different countries however. Plus if you always book via Expedia and never direct...how do you know your room isn't a dud? You might think it's great, but that doesn't mean it's up to the same standard as a room booked direct! Me and my friends have also experienced the Expedia rooms with H10 hotels in Spain - they booked through Expedia and got a 350sq ft room, I booked direct, same price and got a 550sq ft room 🤷‍♂️

I agree with most of your comments. 1. The rooms are average at best. 2. The casino is good, friendly staff, usually reasonable table rates. 3. The one comment I don't understand is the one you made about Gallaghers. You commented that you had "the best steak you've ever had in Vegas ....but that was just the luck of the draw". Also it wouldn't get you to come back there and eat again. What WOULD get you go to back to a restaurant to eat again if the best steak you've had wouldn't do it?

I can see how you'd come to that juxtaposition and question... on the surface my comments might sound contradictory... Like you, I reckon, It takes more than a just pretty face to keep me interested romantically, just as it takes more than one random (albeit great) dish to get me to come back to a restaurant. The steak was indeed fantastic, but as awesome as it was, It still wouldn't motivate me to go all the way south to New York New York just for a steak. At the time of filming this video it was the best I've had, but not by much. It was just slightly and incrementally better than the rest hitherto. If the quality gap had more disparity then yes I could maybe go back just for the steak. But With so many unbelievable dining options in Las Vegas, I'd prefer to find a well-rounded and balanced venue with a more centralized and convenient location, an enhanced atmosphere, more comprehensive menu, and additional after-dinner options such as bars and lounges that more suit my personal tastes. If the steak at Gallaghers was an 'A+', but the rest of the experience there and elsewhere on property was markedly lower, I'd opt for an alternative experience at another place that is an 'A' all-around.

I walked in there on my way to the Irish Pub when I stayed at Delano. I had every intention of coming back but never did, unfortunately. The drinks looked creatively delicious, and the dark speakeasy theme really appealed to me. When I stay at the property again I'll definitely give it some solid time.

I got a better deal by joining the mgm resorts app and booking directly. My room price ranged from 108 to 118. Park ave 2 queens.
