New Yorker here. We call them dirty water dogs, because you get them from street vendors with questionably sanitary food carts. Want a real NY styled hotdog? Go to the supermarket, grab a pack of Nathan's, throw it in some boiling water in a pot that may or may not have residue from the last time you used it, and simmer it all day. At some random point, get up and pick the dog out the water with tongs, throw it onto a bun (making sure to get as much water as possible on the bun, this is important!) make sure to throw a huge glob of ketchup on it, mishear your company and throw relish on it even though they didn't ask for it, and then ask them 7 times if they want to pay $3 for a can of soda. THAT'S NY HOTDOG.
@RetroClassic667 жыл бұрын
See, now THAT sounds much more like a real NY hot dog experience than this gourmet silliness. Especially the part about asking 7 times if they want to pay $3 for a can of soda. That right there is so believably Noo Yawk that it even smells like the subway.
@michaelredd48145 жыл бұрын
No offense, while this video may show a tasty dog, your version with ketchup is not a NYC dog. I don't know where you're buying but as a lifelong New Yorker, um...no.

Sounds about right. In my city, the street meat is always grilled on open flame and I am always shocked at the disappointment I feel when I have a boiled NYC hot dog with way more ketchup than I would ever want

UK pricing is unbelievable. I remember visiting relatives as a young man, and thinking about how they were getting ripped off. To this day I cannot understand the UK's outrageous pricing. The VAT should not double the price of everything. I simply do not understand why you guys across the pond pay so much for every day stuff (my corner place charges US $1.99 for a LOADED hot dog with fries and a coke). By the way, I live in Chicago, a city of 3m people, not some rural toffer-ville (trying to remember what you people say). I would be curious what economists would say to explain the UK's insane price inflation compared to other civilized countries.

London prices are very expensive. This looks good but so messy to eat, when I make mine I put the fried onions into the bun first then the sauce and finally the sausage, its so much easier to eat.

This isn't the average fastfood. It's a hot dog with quality meat and products. Go to New York and buy a high quality hot dog, it will be the same price.

The dub step was already a major turn off, but then he came out with the Ali G hand snap, like some 8th grader from 2005. Might be the cringiest the FoodTube vid/chef.

@laynesimon5789 жыл бұрын
ceconk123 I thought so too and it kept me from really giving it a go for a long time. Turns out there are plenty of non-animal protein options :)
@ceconk1239 жыл бұрын
+Layne Simon That's really interesting, are you taking supplementary pills or something?Because i know that some aminoacids can only be taken from animals.
@laynesimon5789 жыл бұрын
The only supplement I occasionally take is B12 but I'm chronically deficient anyway. I was even when I ate meat. I've yet to have any blood work done since becoming vegan so it's possible that I need supplements but I feel good. I feel better than I used to.
