New York Super Trunk Patina Exhibition 2024! | Kirby Allison

The New York Super Trunk Show, held this past October 2024, is the largest open gathering of classic shoe enthusiasts in America. As a part of this incredible event, a Patina Exhibition was held live during the day showcasing the incredible work of three patina artists.
Patina is the process of applying a totally unique, one-of-a-kind finish to an undyed, or “crust leather,” pair of shoes provided by platinum sponsor Bridlen Shoes, using only Saphir Medaille d’Or leather dyes, creams and waxes.
The patina artists were given just four hours to complete their task, during which they explored a range of special techniques, from the blending of colors to the layering of shades, all while pushing the creative boundaries of their craft to the absolute limit and transforming a pair of shoes into one-of-a-kind works of art.
