This one has grown on me immensely, went from being my least favourite to being my favourite from the line. I could’t stand that sour smell in the opening at first, but now I can’t get enough of it.

The Elixir name threw this one off as far as expectations, I think. The dry down is when you really get the oud and frankincense mix. Off rip it's just a really soapy Y fragrance. All in all, I like it, and I agree with you. 6 months from now people are going to start appreciating it more and for what it is. Cheers, Nate!

I LOVE it and bought it after sampling it. But I also don't like any of the other previous YSL Y sweet DNA line of products. MYSLF is awesome as well.

YSL Y Elixir is very, very good exactly because it is smooth, soapy and slightly powdery in drydown, and with oud that is unmistakbly there but not overly prominent and not overtaking the whole composition ! It is a woody fragrance but has freshenss and cleanness. Yes, it is a departure from the Y line but such is the fate of every Elixir out there !

This is why I love watching you Nate! My thought on this the same. I am smelling the oud in this too, but others in forums arguing with me that nothing like in it. 😅😅 Soapy and aromatic Y with a hint of TF Oud Wood.

Tested at Sephora yesterday. I liked it, soapy clean YSL Y. If I didn't have the EDP and the Intense I'd buy.

Oud wood profile meets bdc parfum with the y dna. My fav of the line once it drops I will get a back up. It’s a mature sophisticated fragrance, business professional, suit type frag.

Just tried the YSL Y Elixir tonight. Very nice. I get the mature, refined, well blended qualifiers. The oud note is very mild! I Get the design and colours. Nice….But the price?

This is clearly and obviously the best Y. Smells higher quality and more mature than the others. I have the whole line, and theyre gym scents. This and the le parfum are the only truly wearable y frags for a grown man. Elixir is good and I bought it because of the lack of sweetness and because of the soapy vibe, not in spite of it. 8\10

Oh dang you got the full bottle on this one 😳 I think I echo most of your thoughts, from my sample I got much more of a very Soapy Aromatic opening with the Geranium, Lavender, floral elements combined with Aldehydes; then as that dried I got a bit of a darker warm incense accord. (which apparently some of that clean, synthetic Oud molecule assuming?) Overall it smells okay but kind of a disappointment considering how highly this is priced and the title of "Elixir' it doesn't really do much to differentiate itself from the rest of the Line and I personally prefer the EDP Intense, and most would say that Le Parfum, EDP, and Eau Fraiche outclasses this. I would say absolutely no to a full bottle at retail.. maybe on discounters if it ever gets to around the 100 mark. Also KA-PLOW moment at 2:52! 🤣

I think it's different enough to get both. But I think it isn't that much different to justify the price.

I'm skipping this one. Just tried it today at sephora. Performance is weak. Sprayed 5 times behind the hand up close. 6 hrs later, i can barely smell it. Scent is like a mixture of edp intense with a toned down le parfum.

You said oud will knock your cat out, but there is frankincense. Frankincense is extremely toxic to cats.

smells like y showergel + montale burnt oud then morphs into y showergel + dirty incdnse (incense repplaces oud), that is it for me I hate it. 3-4/10 I love Y EdT remix, EdP, Le Parfum, Eau Fraiche and I rate Live hihgly, OG EdT is meh and intense is ok. This is bad. (I have 300+ frags and tried 2-3000 niche and designer, but I personally went from designers to niche to niche and designers to mostly designers now. I prefer hard mass appeal and this ain't it. I hate smoky and oudy. I'm hyper against all kinds of animalics, leathers, cumin, smoke, super niche stuff, etc. I started to like more "out there "scents, but took a break and "reset" my nose, in fact, I started to dislike the "out there" scents quite quickly. Meaning, I don't wanna train my nose to be "different", I wanna know what I realize mass appeal is and which I have a good grasp on, not get a twisted niche nose :D haha. but there are plenty great mass appealing niche scents, but so many bizarre ones, too. This Y Elixir is trying to be niche, but clean with dirty notes is just meh...)
