I have a friend who was in the command center. After the battle the commanders were somber, quiet, and asked for the chaplain's assistant to lead a prayer. While it was a solid victory, it was a tragic loss of life. The weight of that was not lost on our military.

Simular to an incident during the Korean 'conflict'. the battleship USS Wisconsin, along with other Naval vessels, was patrolling along the North Korea coast, where a North Korean artillery base fired a single 155mm shell at the Wisconsin. The shell hit the deck on the Wisconsin. This prompted the Wisconsin to return fire, with ALL NINE 16 inch guns. This obliterated the North Korean based, which caused the Captain of one of the other Naval vessels to radio to the Wisconsin 'temper, temper!'

This happened in 2018 when I was in Afghanistan. Because of the nature of my unit, we heard about this then but it was hushed quick because it was classified quick to avoid panic and escalation. I can tell you, with my ten years in the service, 4 combat deployments, you WONT hear about 90% of the crazy, scary, and just oddly irrational things that take place across the world battlefields…

Out of the 234-ish years since the ratification of the US Constitution, the US has only not been at war or similar armed conflict for between 12-17 years of them (depending on who's doing the tallying). Military conflict is and has most assuredly been one of our most practiced skills. Consequently, when unshackled from (usually) self-imposed constraints, we tend to be pretty good at it.

this honestly has probably been Russia’s greatest downfall in most of their modern conflicts. they really just have next to no experience with combined arms tactics in modern combat as their last real full scale conflict prior to Ukraine was Chechnya, and the way that was approached was very different. They seem to not realize the US industrial military complex never really stalled, even after the cold war. Its focus just shifted. But even then, in the past 30 years we still crushed the 4th largest army 2 times and did it under 2 months both times.

Later, I flew Bell AH-1Fs and Hughes / McDonnell Douglas / Boeing AH64As as a US Army warrant officer in Attack Helicopter Battalions and we *NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER* called our AH-1s or AH-64s "gunships". The "AH" in AH-1 and AH-64 stands for "Attack Helicopter" not "Gunship". Imagine that! Also, the US Army Attack Helicopter Battalions I was a member of were *NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER* called "Gunship Helicopter Battalions". I was in the US Army from 1999-2010, I deployed to war several times as I was an Infantryman. If we had AC-130 support at night, I did not fear anything I was being asked to do, if that makes sense. The plane see's everything and as you saw, if very effective at helping get you from being jammed up. Love your families Tube! Amazing content!

@@JackyJames1 thanks, and yeah. You guys are similar in lots of ways…just way smaller, that’s the main difference, besides not being as openly militant, haha. But that’s kinda ideals, especially budget and economy. Hard for any potential rival to compete, when we spend as much/a little more than the next top 10 countries put together. It’s pretty silly honestly, especially these days. I think we could scale back a little , at least after we modernize the old legacy stuff we got, then drop it down a notch or two. As those newer systems cost quite a bit less to maintain as our best, but decade to many decades old stuff. I mean, we spend more then quite a few countries have of gdp…just in the military.

@@jetspray3 lol, was more than that but our troops woulda ate them up if let at them. The Russian mercs and Syrian fighters don’t compare to ours, not in training, equipment or even skill/experience most times, and the fewer numbers, with better stuff, training, combined with our arty and air power woulda made even faster work of them, as then they’d be getting fired on from the ground also, plus everything that was happening already. And well, we’re American, of course our air power is the best option, we have the most powerful navy, the most power airforce, and the second most powerful airforce in the world, in the US navy, not even mentioning all the conventional warhead missiles to add to it, then arty.

I’ve actually watched this video shown on a few KZbin channels. In fact, I just watched it yesterday on a KZbin channel. With that being said, what I loved the most about watching this video on THIS KZbin channel over ALL the other channels, is that these two basically just let it roll with very little stopping and adding inane chatter! I swore on those other channels that I would never watch another of their reaction videos due to their way too much talking over the video and excessive stopping of the video. I will subscribe to this channel to watch more of their reaction videos! Hopefully they will do the same on those as well! Bravo! Great job!

Not exactly. NZ has banned certain US vessels from their territorial waters and ports, particularly nuclear-powered ones, and the ones possibly carrying nuclear weapons. This bugs the US Navy enough that NZ vessels participating in joint war games around Hawaii must dock in Honolulu Harbor instead of Pearl Harbor, where warships of other participating countries can dock.

We hear many politicians and special groups here in the US say "we spend too much money on our military". This is an example of why. We are allies with about 80% of the world, meaning we will help them when an aggression happens. knowing this and what we have at our disposal, most countries like China, Russia and North Korea are careful about what actions they take. many in the US call our military the world police, i call them the world peace keepers by just being present. Also, we are the only country in the world that can engage in actions in the Atlantic and Pacific/Indian oceans without any real concern.

I live in Riverside California near March Air Force Base. Last month the base had a free air show that had the Blue Angels and various airplanes on display. While they practiced they would fly over my house and you were able to see US air power. It would have been something you would have enjoyed. It would have been a great experience for your family. Yes, they got smoked but the american's were contacting russian headquarters. It was not cleared in the video that the russian headquarter's contaced Wagner PMC nor asked about if they were advancing toward SDF and American held oil fields. This is clearly a problem in the russian HQ, if HQ would have asked or contacted any russian forces this would not have happened.

Deployed to Special Operations Squadron in Thailand, 1970/1971. We were part of a top secret operation in Nov of ‘70 to rescue POWs from a camp in N.Vietnam. Son Tay was the location, Operation Ivory Coast was the name of the op. Might be interesting if you can find a well done video about it. Funnily Enough PMC Wagner holds very high respects and regards to the US. A US Volunteer that has recently died in Ukraine was found by PMC Wagner and the leader himself said that the soldier died honorably and that he would be returned to the US draped in an American flag as long as his body remained in PMC Wagner Hands.

One of my favorite stories of psychological warfare was during the Cold War when the C.I.A. had care packages emblazoned with U.S.A. air dropped around the Soviet Union that included common products found in America, along with some democratic propaganda. Ok, back in this video context. San Antonio, my hometown, is where the United States Air Force started. I grew up going to military air shows and have seen all those aircraft up close and personal. Demonstrated live and later sitting on the ground for public, up close inspection. Very impressive indeed. Those planes and more. It’s usually free, but if not anymore, it’s not expensive and the live demonstrations will be unforgettable. I saw the F-22 Raptor twice! It was super cool and super creepy at the same time. Airplanes aren’t supposed to do that. 😆 🛸 😳

When I was a kid growing up close to downtown in the late 70s early 80s, the fighter jets used to buzz the Tower of Americas. City Council went to the CO of Kelly, as well as lodging complaints with the Pentagon for terrorizing the tourists. It used to freak me out. The entire house would shake and the windows would rattle (it was on older house). One time, a window pain fell out from all the shaking of the jets going overhead.

I have a suffreioan for another video for just the two pd you to react to without the kids. New York Times- "Retro Report: On Shaky Ground: The 1989 San Francisco Earthquake". I lived through it, I was 13 years old at times time. It was scary. I remember the quake and the aftermath vividly to this day, more then 30 years later!

As a veteran, what most folks dont hear in the Russian commentary is the absolute demoralization of their forces. The casualties are one thing. The realization of the survivors of how outclassed and outgunned they were, is where the true victory lays. Half the battle is killing the opposition, the other half is beating them so badly they don't want a rematch.
