New Zealand is exposed to the very fast westerly winds. The winds are so fast that they have been given names roaring forties , furious fifties and screaming sixties. The reason behind the winds being so fast is the absence of land, as wind blows too quickly on the sea surface it tends to maintain the same pace even on the land. So, if the trees are bent in eastern alignment this may be the reason for the bend of the trees. And as far as the thrill on the trip is concerned, I think it can be experienced more when u take up such countries which are politically not stable, cuz people want to know the reality in such countries, about newzealand and all, people either know enough or have some preconceived notions and hence they tend to ignore some of the videos. Jab bhi kisi decent sized city k pas jao to waha par Car wreckers k bade se Yards hote h. Luckily your car is an older Toyota, apko easily ek bumper mil sakta h saste m. Otherwise car sahi karwana bohot mehnga h in these countries.

Car wrecker is a good.place to find one but to match the paint e.t.c will also cost more and the company would know as well.They are keeping his bond money unless a miracle happens.Standard procedure for most rental cars.

That’s right. But its worth trying. otherwise as you mentioned he’ll be loosing big bucks. The bond is around $2000 and repairs in AU/NZ are quite expensive. Did you get a reply him?

Advised for you brother; Always rent SUVs, the best is Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR V when you are driving a long trip and for off road. 4 wheel drive are the best. Paheli baar drive kar rahe New Zealand main, road condition ka pata nahi hai, always be prepared for the worst. And, why the bumper got broke? because the vehicle has low ground clearance, it got hit on the bump of the road. Don't choose the vehicle kyun ki sasta mil raha hai. Another advice, Go to Toyota Body Repair Center and tell them to find a bumper from after the market. Woh sasta padega. Agar kisi non toyata repair center se repair karoge toh rent company wale sayad accept nahi kare. Aur aap ka double kharcha ayega. So better talk to rental company first.

Car repairs are very expensive here, best is to tape it up and carry on till you reach Auckland. South Auckland has panel shops which can do it cheaper than South Island. Alternatively, check if your rental agreement covers insurance.
