@@danmachen9103 There are two types of haka performed before rugby games. This is a more ceremonial version called Kapa o Pango that is reserved for special occasions, rather than the more traditional war dance haka, Ka Mate, which is generally performed.

We try to in the U.S. with some of the names for our sports teams but many people are all "THAT'S OFFENSIVE GET RID OF IT!!" The University of Illinois had to get rid of Chief Illiniwek for that very reason. What people who hated him couldn't understand was that the dance the person portraying him did was called "fancy dance" and done in celebration, there wasn't any religious or war like meaning attached to it. What they also didn't get was the fact that the student picked to portray the chief was sent out to an Indian reservation in South Dakota to learn the dance and the culture. What really angered me the most was that people kept calling him a mascot which he wasn't. A mascot does goofball antics on the sidelines during a game, the only time Chief Illiniwek was seen was during halftime of home football and basketball games.

It doesnt matter what nationality or religion you are in New Zealand, this Maori Culture is instilled in you from a baby. Performing a haka throughout all stages of school and carrying that pride through life. These grown men are the epitome and standard of rugby players because of that deeply seeded culture and respect they have for their country and the game. 3PEAT!
@markanderson8783

I get that but is NZ cocky attitude towards other nations part of that too? Everybody goes on about how the haka is being disrespected but NZ has never shown respect towards another nation. The fans are grotesque. Unpleasant and nobody may support their own teams without getti.g attacked by them.

@@markanderson8783 Im a kiwi that doesnt mind a challenge during the haka. I encourage chanting and other types of reactions from other teams and I know im not the only one. It just makes it that much sweet when we win, or sour if we lose. But saying NZ never shows respect to other countries? If youre basing this off the comments youre reading on a video, than compare how many "disrespectful" comments to how many views a video has. A lot of respectful kiwis, watch but dont comment. For Example: Everyone has a power bill. People that have their power cut, phone the call center to ask why? this is the minority. The majority have power so they just go on with their day. This is exactly how the comment section on any video works. This video has 1.5m views and 2.2k comments. Let that sink in for a minute.

Respect to SA for putting in a very good performance. You tested the AB’s which I am thankful for as a Kiwi. I’m not bothered by the singing in the background, it’s banter at the end of the day. The Boks faces the Haka which is what matters. Crowds and fans tend to get on their high horses over these things when it’s about the players and the teams. Look at the respect displayed after the game particularly saith saveea on one knee supporting his opposition and SBW. Much respect between the sides and players. Fans need to take a leaf outta their book and respect each other, other wise you sound like a bunch of rowdy soccer supporters.

galaxy morty how long have you been holding onto that one. I think Steve Hansen and Kieran Read finished on a 85 percent win ratio. 93 games Won, 4 games drawn and only 10 losses. 2 losses which were effect by red cards.
