As someone who was a victim of sexual abuse from a father figure I think this is wrong from the perspective of any children around the relationship. It gives the message that once children reach 16 or are no longer minors it is a matter of choice (and adult consent )whether or not to have incestuous relationships. I found it very upsetting.

What is right or wrong? My own view is they are disillusioned and misguided, she might have had father issues and being adopted can be a difficult experience, but this guy is messed up. This woman just wants to be loved and feel accepted by her father after feeling maybe for years alone and rejected being adopted, that I understand but this is something that was supposed to be beautiful and they made it perverted. Amazing how people blame any misdeeds humans commit on a non-existent evil deity. It’s a cop-out , a way of excusing people’s bad actions and behaviour. Humans don’t need a devil to take the blame. But it’s extra tragic when it affects people who had no prior knowledge of their relationship when they first met. In this particular case though, I think whoever reported it to the authorities is in the wrong. This is clearly not a case of child/adult but of two middle aged adults with no kids of their own, and obviously with no plans to have any. Leaving well enough alone may well have been the kindest thing to do than upsetting a whole family. The main reason for laws against such close family ties is to prevent inbreeding and all the ills that follow such inbreeding. In earlier times no one understood the biological reasons, just that it was a subject forbidden by religious teachings, and tabu in many cultures for millennia and to such an extent that most people recoil in disgust at the mere thought of it.
