The Giant Sequoias trees in the Sierra Nevadas are a different sub species from the coastal redwood trees. The giant Sequoias are larger in girth/diameter whereas the coast redwoods tend to be taller. Also the Giant Sequoias are typically only found above 4,000 feet elevation, if my memory serves me correctly. Cool video, thanks. I hope you get to make more. I enjoy great outdoors videos. I got to visit Australia one time, but not New Zealand.

John M. Chew Thanks for the info...always great to learn about these massive trees! I’m in Arizona now and plan to make it over to see some of the Sequoias in here in the U.S. I will likely make a video and post it on this channel if I make it over to California. Thanks for checking out the video!

well coast redwoods are wider and were once larger, but the largest one was cut. Now the largest coast redwood is the 5th largest tree. Still coast redwoods are wider, at 29 feet, and giant sequoias are half a foot thinner, they just sometimes overexcaturate the size

Love the inclusion of facts throughout! And anecdotal "barbie doll hair" comments lol. Now that you are in Arizona, you should take a journey to Sequoia

Did you know Redwood forests dated back 65 million years ago during the age of the dinosaurs. Dinosaurs like T. rex we’re said to have once roamed these forests which were much more widespread across North America.
