Guys! Thanks for watching! This may be my last travel video for a while... I have fallen out of love with the process of making travel vlog type content and will be moving into a different direction. I'm not exactly sure what that will look like yet but I'm hoping you come along for the journey with me!

Great video, enjoyed it alot ! Two problems though - Mueller hut isn't free, bookings aren't required in winter but hut fees still apply. I just wanted to say as not to encourage others to go without paying; The department of conservation is signficantly underfunded and does a great job at maintaining the area. Secondly please learn to use an ice axe correctly before going on an alpine hike!( I didn't see a single shot of holding/using one correctly!) I've seen alot of people fall before an not know what to do once they start because they wern't holding it correctly.
@JamieTK2 жыл бұрын
Ty legend! We did make a payment at DOC - totally forgot to mention that! And the ice pick we didn't actually need they just gave us to take up - but definitely would learn to use it on more advanced hikes. Thanks for watching :)

Great cinematic travel Vlog Jamie! I can definitely feel how hard this hike was, very impressive that you still get to capture so many beautiful drone shots during the hike, NZ is BEAUTIFUL!

Awesome video guys and awesome views 😍😎 Just feel I need to post a few corrections- 1 Huts are not free all Huts in NZ have fees except for a few old backcountry Huts , see the DoC website. 2 learn how to use crampons and ice axe before you use them. Sliding down a mountain is not the place to learn how to self arrest. 3 drones are not allowed without a permit and there are fines for this. 4 being appropriately dressed and prepared for the cold is also really really important. Get a proper three season or winter sleeping bag before attempting Alpine climbs in winter The temperature in the hut is definitely warmer than outside as the hut has insulation and shelter from the wind if you’re outside you would’ve been much much much colder! Last make sure your training and fitness are up to scratch. MULLER is a tough walk I’ve done it three times and wanting to do it a couple more hopefully in the same conditions as you lucky guys.

Hey lads and ladettes! Great video. Loved this. My partner Kate and I are planning to do this in Mid September. We love hikes in Australia but obviously doesn't compare to this in terms of difficulty. Have you guys done alpine trails before? Was it doable? Cheers! PS: love the Anjunadeep soundtrack
@JamieTK2 жыл бұрын
First time on alpine trails - very doable for beginners. Go talk to Doc before you go up and they’ll explain everything
@kiwigecko12 жыл бұрын
Nice photography but why would you say Mueller hut was free and being a extremely greatful recipient of search and rescue services why do you think its OK to fly a drone in a zone which clearly forbids them and could compromise a helicopter rescue.. Just saying brothers helping brothers.
