I'm a little embarrassed by how over the top my reaction was to this challenge considering how easy it seemed to be for other hikers, but I'm really happy we took on this challenge! Also...leave it to my dyslexic brain to edit this over a period of weeks and watch it more than 10 times before posting and still not notice the typo in the intro. 😩

It's not just you!! I have done countless NZ hikes (including 3-4 day tramps), and I am ALWAYS slower than everyone else. But I get there in the end :) Loved reliving my Mueller Hut experience through your vid!

I'm still thinking about the moment of finishing the hike all the way up, catching your breath, looking around and seeing the wall display of the previous huts that tragically ceased to exist. It's absolutely beautiful up there and it seems like there's so much to feel like one little person with all the huge mountains and storms and ice falls, and I loved the shot of the wildflowers between the rocks, where even somewhere that harsh there are little spots of life tucked away.

"it's hard for me. I'm really proud of myself" I think this is really important to remember! I did a hike recently and everyone was flying past me, but I was so proud of myself when I reached the top. Speaking of, if you ever come to Japan, I recommend Yakushima! I'm glad y'all were able to snag the spots and reach the top in spite of the weather! It looked stunning (even with the ominous information about all the previous huts' demise)
