One of those women who pulled the life boat in 1940 was Rosie Rowe my husband's grandmother she used to wait the lines knit the fishermen jumpers her picture with my husband is in the little museum we don't know what hard work is these days

I used to go and stay at my Nannas caravan she had in the park beside the church. Loved it. We used to walk across the big concrete blocks from the war in the bay and catch huge red crabs on handlines as the tide came in. Great days. Had a look on Google maps and they've moved the blocks from the bay to the otherside of Church Point to help with the erosion. .

Note the treeless streets ....a massive statement of being "working class" that's all your getting ....I left there in the early eighties & will NEVER go back it's the proverbial sh..hole.
