My daughter was 5lb 7oz 19in long. She was tiny with skinny little legs. I would definitely have preferred the preemie size covers.( Doctors said she would be 7Lbs 🤦♂️) That being said I loved my hook and loop (for newborn stage) sized xs thirsties covers (I had 4) Though it had more fabric than I would have like, It worked! I also had 4 thirsties covers in size small. I used them with Gmd newborn prefolds & Gmd onesize Birdseye Flats in origami fold. This time around I've added 3 more thirsties duos size 1, 5 thirsties Newborn fitteds and 11-14 Thirsties natural aios to my stash, so excited! As far as smaller covers go... I purchased from GMD clotheez covers & some rumparoos. With my daughter I didn't mind the bulky butt, still don't really... this time I gave myself some options for a trim fit under clothes with new baby. I played it smart for my newborn stash with my daughter because I had a set budget. I'm excited this time around to have a little more fun with the prints and all in ones for my newborn If done again With my daughter I wouldn't change a thing ( besides getting the thirsties preemie size covers ) the solid colors are a must have in my stash especially when trying to match to cute clothes prints. Hope this helps some one :)

I wish the ones with snap closures had cross over snaps, mainly because if you are out and about it's a great way to roll them up and snap them closed for dirty storing

Thanks for the feedback! That is a convenient way to store them especially in a diaper bag.

My baby outgrew the size 1 around 3 months around 15lbs. He was very tall but not overly chubby, not skinny either. We got a better fit with the velcro. We also used the xs and didn't really notice a huge difference tbh maybe got an extra week or 2 out of the duo. When buying the duo, I saw up to 9months and said oh great, I never looked at the weight limit but I think 9 months is pushing it even with an average sized babe, I'd say 6 months is a lot more realistic.
