Newborn Seal Saved From Rope

This time of the year, we find a lot of very young seals with all sorts of entanglements. Our seal pups are only a few weeks or months old. They have just started to explore the ocean. While playing in the waves or diving deep into the waters, this little guy picked up a piece of rope. Initially, he would not even have felt it. But young seals grow very fast while loops remain the same. Every movement resulted in pain as the loop cut deeper and deeper into his skin, and death would have followed soon if the OCN rescuers had not cut the loop. With the entanglement removed, the saltwater will help disinfect his wound and we have high hopes for his recovery.

I know it’s naive and fanciful of me, but I wish the seals could understand that you guys are trying to help them. Wouldn’t it be great if, each time you showed up at a beach, all the entangled seals formed an orderly queue to be rescued. “Hey Dave, OCN are here. You can finally get that gillnet removed!”

Are Seals born nearly fully developed? As in teeth and swimming? Don't they say humans are technically born "PREMATURE" and we should be in the womb for 12m instead of the 9ish?
