South Shields looks better than i remembered .a lovely place to retire too I think. Lots of shops lots of pubs . And the best fish n chips around. Plus a walk down to the coast and some lovely ice cream . Heaven is here.

we used to live in Sunderland back in the 80s and my brother and I have some lovely memories of metro land and going to the metro centre and going to the fair at South shields in the summer. we've just started going back and rediscovered the area in our 40s and it is absolutely stunning, the ne coast from Seaham is a treasure.
