It's funny, you mentioning the red telephone box .. sadly there are not many left now. I know of at least one other quite nearby, just outside Whitley Bay station, probably only a couple of miles from Tynemouth. I'm sure there are more, but at this exact time can not remember any ... maybe time for a Google street view tour 😄😄

I like Tynemouth in fact I like the whole North East .it's a small town with a perfect climate not to hot or too cold .reasonably inexpensive and friendly .the houses are quite spacious and nice ..and very close to rhe sea . what more could you ask for?

The first red telephone box of this design was installed in Piccadilly, the entrance of Burlington House and the Royal Academy in 1926. Within a decade, 1,700 were installed across London.
