Bob, the owner of Newcastle Sewing Centre showed us how to set up and use an overlocker. I filmed it so that we could recall his great tuition and I have shared it here so that others can have the benefit of his experience.

Your welcome. So do I. It has the correct tensions for my machine and when they get out of place I come back to this video... I also dont sew much so I do forget certain aspects of threading it. I am glad that others are getting use out of it x

I have exactly the same overlocker as shown in the video. Tried as per all the instructions and demonstration and the overlocker is still not overlocking properly. Is there any chance of Bob coming to London to repair this "*%>+ machine?

Great demo, Have you any more demo on thread tension regarding the SL1/SL1T model.Every time i change material i spend ages doing tests on strips of cloths is there any tips?

Oh Bob ! Where are you ? My lovely mum just gave me her Toyota sl 3404D differential I’ve threaded it but the tension is wrong 🤦‍♀️I’ve tried setting the dials as in this video but it’s not right 🙁help please?

I see you thread the machine from right to left 4321 but some ppl thread it right to left but do it 3421 does it make a different

i have got a Janome 9102d overlocker, and i have had terrible trouble threading the looper, i just dint know what i am doing wrong. I have watched the utube videos, but still no luck.Any tips thanks.

Hi I've just seen the above on how to thread an overlocker. My Mam gave just gave me hers. It's a Toyota SL3477 Been sitting doing nothing for years in her spare room. Thought I'd have a go but it's got tangled and right needles just snapped. Can't see how to thread the last two stages. Can you help? Also I think it'll need a service and could do with a contact number if you have one.

Ah well done Bob! My serger has been put back into a cupboard so many times. My sticking point was not putting the thread through tension bars and waiting to get that ‘click’. I’ve been trying to sort this for years!
