Havertz was solid today. Almost didn’t miss Odegaard (truthfully). I’m convinced emotions cloud eyes when coming off of games. Ben White, Saka, Martinelli, and Eddie were poor. I wish Jorginho had the mobility to go forward a bit more. All that said, we just weren’t clever or good enough to trouble the keeper. We were getting into good areas outside of that. Also…the ball has definitely come off of Joelinton’s arm. So VAR missed the foul, the offside (99% certain on this), and a handball. Not to mention the forearm from Bruno. It’s mad.

I’m done with watching football, after today’s game. I can handle a little corruption here and there but the way they are so brazen about being fully corrupt like that has done me. This is not football to me anymore, I know the Saudis have a plan to take over sports and sportwash the entirety. I refuse to take part, Football has been dying for a long time. Today it died.

Buying Kai Havertz was a mistake, plain and simple. Buying Kai Havertz raises serious questions about Arteta's judgement. So many better and cheaper players were available who could have been contributing more to the team than Havertz. The Kai Havertz experiment will fail.🤦♂️

If Kai has a Xhaka tax, he would have been sent off straight. He was walking a tight rope there. Reminds me of Auba and his level of tackling. It’s committed but certainly doesn’t have the finesse and acumen of the back line lads. Think the coaches need to work with Kai on that if he’s really going to be that aggressive. Meantime just cut out the sliding tackles. But overall I like Kai in this game. Was expecting his usual languid demeanour but he stepped up and showed a different side. On Kai and Eddie, we need to (re)focus on what the bigger thing is. Where they are now, it’s hard to make an argument that they will win the Prem for AFC. But that’s not what they’re here for. I still hold out optimism that Eddie is going to be a bit of a late bloomer. Maybe 27, 28. Continue to lay the ground work to be dominant in the years to come. City didn’t become dominant because they merely only bought players. It’s in part because a) “financial doping” (let’s call a spade a spade) and b) things are in line (Pep himself admits as much). AFC needs that same structuring type work if MA is to leave AFC truly better than when he came. I had felt that winning the Prem last season would have been a double edge sword. Yes a trophy but it would have also mean that there’s huge temptation to shift from doing the important process work we were on to focusing instead on defending and not losing the title. I had hoped MA and the AFC execs would stay the course and not become distracted. I’d be happy to stay competitive at this phase, which AFC largely are. Their G boy to borrow MA’s words, is a disgrace. MA and the club needs to take the issue up with the FA for violent conduct. Utter nonsense and a disgrace that he endangers another player’s wellbeing out of his spite. What a petty, selfish, shameful person he is. To think he launched at Jorginho at least twice. I shudder that NUFC kids will look up to Bruno Guimares. Eww 🤮🤮. Props to Jorginho for not making a bigger meal of it. Perhaps he wanted to show up “strong” as the captain. But it doesn’t change that it’s unacceptable. Doesn’t matter it’s the forearm. The back of the head is a “soft spot” (any wonder why you would hit there if you wanted to knock someone out, especially without them knowing?). It’s foul play and dangerous. He needs to be suspended. Minimum 3 games. FK, putting a request here to you to put off inviting your NUFC friend back for a season or two. It’s nothing to do with her, and as a fan she’s has the right to celebrate a win, especially after some many years of being in the doldrums. Just not the biggest fan of NUFC right now. And this without even getting into the sports washing. Think it also protects her from any hangover comments in the return fixture. Do like the idea though, to hear from a fan of the opposing team.

Completely robbed once again by shocking officiating. Bruno G could've had 3 or 4 yellows and a red for the whack on Jorgi and how that goal is allowed to stand is a sickening indictment of the state of refereeing in the league. Pathetic

Why are VAR allowed to make any judgement calls? You know they know they fucked it when there's an official statement during the match! Offside, out of play or over the goal line? Sure. They are yes/no calls. Let the ref do his job of officiating. If there's a question, they're the only person who should be making any call.
@LatteFirm7 ай бұрын
Agreed but it’s more good than bad. Just costs us too much.
@matthewsimpson14047 ай бұрын
Totally agree with you FK. Going forward we offer virtually nothing. Unfortunately Eddie isn't going to win us big games. One issue is not playing Rice at 6. Can he play as an 8? Yes. Is he one of the best number 6 in the world? Absolutely. We lose so much more than we gain by playing him higher up. It stops play being linked quickly and leaves us with no creativity up front. Mikel needs to go back to basics I think. Still not sure I'm ready to talk about the refs yet 😅
@LatteFirm7 ай бұрын
It’s so disheartening, Matthew. On we go.
@DanAlphaWolf7 ай бұрын
FK, gutted is an understatement. Var - not sure what its purpose is if its not meant to intervene, the ref has the final say so why not let him review situations at the same time. Any of the incidents, win lose or draw should be reffed in a fair manor. Bruno wouldve been red carded ( like in the previous encounter 2 seasons ago) but no review. I cannot say 100% if the ball was completely out (you know them 1mm margins they wish to use) but that was a foul on gabby, double arm push into the back is not a fair jump. Havertz did me proud tonight, still can do more for what he gave in physicality and some direct play, ill take it. Rice was immense and literally ran for 90mins. Saka Nelli white looked average today conpared to their usually selves but saliba.... boy....hes unreal how composed he is. Such a gutting feeling losing like that but it did highlight the need for a proper no 9, i mean... jesus and 9 battle for 1 and 2, eddie has to be 3. Hes got talent but hes not that guy and we have to admit that. Great hat trick the other day, but his record is starting to stat up in a negative way. Wish we was more creative today but feel we was wastedul in good areas too. Rant done.... on to the next and hopefully redemption!

Not going to comment on the corrupt refereeing, but I’m seeing a certain section of Arsenal fans say we should blame the team more for not creating enough chances and letting the game be decided by fine margins. Do I think we have offensive problems? Sure. But Newcastle are also an incredible defensive team skilled in the dark arts, what gives us fans the divine right to expect clinics in every single match? Even City were only able to put one goal past them. We have so many first team injuries as well 😂 I hate this fanbase sometimes man. Injuries are a serious concern though, and imo while we are unlucky, it also exposes the poor squad-building of the past two years. Too many CBs, 6s and 10s, not enough 8’s and forwards. We’re going to have to get in a first choice striker and a top-class LCM in January to stand a chance. I would move on from Eddie, Rammers, ESR and Reiss if we need to.

I don't really have an issue with the VAR decisions around the goal. Newcastle are brutally tough to play at St James' Park. I thought the team played well - gave it all. I blame Edu and Arteta on their poor transfer policy - wasted £120m on Havertz, Fabio Vieira (rubbish), Jorginho(slow), Eddie (average), Zinny (cant defend) and bought a keeper when the priority was a forward !! Ramsdale is the better keeper anyway but Arteta has destroyed his confidence ! Surely Arteta knew that Partey never plays so why not buy a quality cover in midfield ! Tactically the manager looks lost and "I PROMISE YOU ALL THAT THIS MANAGER WONT WIN US PL or CL"" -HE IS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND WE HV GONE BACKWARDS - ARTETA IS NOT PEP ! FACTS
