Gini was class, he just had a chronic fear of going away from home. Sissoko was just lazy. He was big, strong, good on the ball and had an eye for goal but the second we started flirting with the bottom three he gave up. He's great for Spurs only because they're not scrapping for a point week in week out just to survive. If Spurs start struggling, he'll disappear. Janmaat was the same, as was Cisse in the 15/16 season.

McLaren had lots of backing from the board and spent 20M+ in January window. He was a shit coach/manager, as has been proved at almost every club he has been at. Totally inept and clueless

Nik Turk lots of backing? Panic buys? The board didn’t care about tactics. McClaren did ok with derby, great with Twente part 1 and obviously made Middlesbrough into a top 10 team with silverware and Europe challenges. The club was rotten and still is, when he took over. The fans turn out in there thousands to complain. Lived there for 4 years and Christ the disconnect between every possible stakeholder is hilarious and each one is too daft to sort it

@@glennb6020They invested heavily in the summer McLaren joined. These were not panic buys. Shelvey still at the club not a panic buy. Townsend added more quality and was hardly a panic buy. Rafa improved the standard of play, team unity and raised morale. Derby were happy to see McLaren leave, look at the slide they went on during 2nd half of the season. McLaren was out of his depth. The smoggies had 1 good season and then got found out in the UEFA finals. Top 10 team? They finished 7th ONCE. Newcastle is rotten only at the top. The fans want a team and board that cares and plays about the club.

Nik Turk invested heavily in panic buys with no understanding of the managers wants or needs. Townsend was a panic but as you let him have a bottom draw clause in his contract and paid him obscene money. Derby fans were more annoyed that the form went off a cliff after Newcastle’s first approach. They wanted him gone after his head was turned. Boro under McClaren, had numerous cup runs that took priority over the league. The one year they didn’t have a cup run they finished 7th. I imagine Newcastle fans would kill for that run if results. McClaren is no where near as bad as originally thought, few managers can work at Newcastle. The board is there for profit and the fans are amongst the most fickle I’ve ever come across. Thank god they’ve realised they can boycott the home games, only took them 11 years?
