I’d play Paqueta up top like he did a few times with Moyes, he should be benched if playing in midfield but he’s less likely to cause a counter attack for Newcastle from up there, he’s still got a bit about him even with bad form, decent in the air good finisher may win us a pen

I hope for a good performance and dignified, hard fought tie, or a one goal loss. That would be what I would expect if we were playing under Allardyce or Moyes, perish the thought. This is how I would set up. Push Soucek forward. Get Todibo and his forward runs in midfield. Take Alvarez off as soon as he gets a yellow, replace with Guido (heaven forbid). Hope Paqueta feels inspired to battle his countryman like he did last year. Let Summerville forge a place in the team, with an idea to put Kudus central when he returns. I think Soucek up top is bold, I definitely can’t see Lopetegui doing it, but I do think he would cause problems… Paq up top like we did a few times last season is more likely, but I can’t see us not going with Antonio. Let’s hope it’s a good game & if we do get pumped, Lops last! - Sloth

Newcastle actually have the 2nd best defensive record in the league for goals conceded. It's why they are 8th and in the early games wasnt scoring enough with isak off form and broken toe

@@leemays7033 true but they’ve been hit hard with injuries & the DB loss is still a worry for them. I think their biggest strength is in the fullbacks, but when Botman gets back (and if he can stay fit) they will go to another level - Sloth

I cant see anything other than a 4 or 5-0 loss. Lopetegui has not got a clue tactically and, despite the noises coming out of the club, I don't believe the players are onboard with his tactics; and it shows

@BabblingIrons burn not good for this game anyway Kelly be much better as that give us pace as big Dan not fast but Kelly very fast .but we have got second best defence in league only Liverpool got better. we had 4defenders out most of season botman trips laseles craft also so considering we had all them defenders out we done very well good news trips back and Callum Wilson back they make bench. Arsenal were supposed to be a set piece expert team and we snuffed them out. If we put out the team out we want to we can beat any team. Hopefully Kelly fits into the centre of defence and creates a good rapport with Schar. Nothing is a given but we're at home and are on a hot streak I don't see you lot getting any joy.
