woozi writing this album at 19 years old whilst living his daily life as an idol is crazy to me, the way they sing about how their lives have changed and the growth they’ve gone through since debut (or even before since woozi said drift away was the first seventeen song he wrote) makes me so in awe of him. i don’t know how he was able to get across such emotions and do it so well at such a young age with everything he was also juggling at the same time

They sang a piece of Drift Away in Tipsy Live, after reading the comments from their Killing Voice performance to see what carats wanted to see. So they just added it in there. I love going through this journey again. 😊

all 4 tracks still on high rotation in my playlist. i really appreciate their earlier discog and how they've withstood the test of time for a lot of us, and if i'm not mistaken, Drift Away was also written by pre debut svt babies.

Hello Bri and Tori! This gonna be long bear with me lol!! I really appreciate you took time to listen to the album and upcoming albums in your seventeen journey. First 3(4 with repackage) album is basically roots of seventeen sound presenting to the world. You can see their growth in terms of sounds and lyrics throughout the album and I am so excited for you guys!! For “Popular Song”, the Korean title is 유행가 (Yu-Haeng-Ga) which literal meaning is Hit Track/ Hit Song. Yu-Haeng-Ga is kinda old korean expression (used up to late 80’s early 90’s) which represent a top songs that is loved by all age and especially general listener. The term Yu-Haeng-Ga in the lyrics is like temporary title. You can fill in with their current hit songs. The best thing about this songs and lyrics is, in terms of melody - it is experimental with different sounds and arrangements (promising what sound they are capable to produce) and lyrically is their hope and wish of how their produced songs would mean to their listener. It is basically a blueprint of what Seventeen was, would and will sound. Seventeen main goals when producing is to create songs that would match your mood and weather. That is why they never stay on the same sounds through their discography and always try on new genres even in the b-sides. You can never catch then sounding the same throughout their discography. Some songs, may not hit you at the first listen, but when you listened it on the right mood or weather, suddenly the song make sense. That is the magic of Seventeen sounds. If Yu-Haeng-Ga is their hope and wish for what their songs would be, Maestro is the prove and summary of what they have achieved and will continue to create in the future. I love seventeen songs and lyrics cuz they were raw and real while still relatable. Simple sounded yet sincere, experimental but never estrange. This album with its lyrics is soo relatable and seventeen proved that just how much talented they are, not just as a performance group but also their vocals and music production. And in the future you will see that how each of their albums are different from their previous ones and they are constantly improving by each album.😊 And i really like it when you point out every little detail about the song and really want say that seventeen is masters of adlibs and you also can see it. They are a whole package and you will not miss anything in their albums because for everyone they have that one song that anybody can relate and listen to. And their album is called the First love& Letter because this album is their first love letter for Carats and themselves. And just love it 😊

“Popular/Hit Song” will forever be THAT SONG for me. It will forever be in my top 10 for SVT bsides bc it just has that quintessential RnB feel that i love and that bridge is INSANE. Just an fyi, all of the Special Videos they have on their KZbin for the Unit Remixes are completely different from the actual Studio recordings in the album itself. So definitely listen to the Color Coded before anything else!

It's interesting how there are many tracks in this album which were written and composed in SVT's trainee days (like Still Lonely, Drift Away, No F.U.N and Space). Of course they were polished and rearranged afterwards so they can be released, but yeah, it amazes me how they can already come up with such songs back then. Btw, I hope you'll be doing live/stage performances for the remaining unit tracks cos you literally need the performance in the performance unit's song for this album.

I still listen to Popular song till now. Everytime I listen to it, it will pierced into my soul. The vocals and instrumental is immaculate. I really really hope SVT will perform this song again😭 it's a crime that they didn't perform this song for a long time

still lonely is still my top song from this album, she's so pretty and honest. now, hit song has been my alarm for 8 year and still can't get tired of it; the reason is because of the bridge so😅 ugh I was waiting patiently for the fake ending of say yes, and it did not disappoint😂. this is 메보즈's best track and I need more of them😔 i enjoy so much traveling back with you to my baby carat era and their baby svt era so, this is so much fun. can't wait for the unit video and next album♡

Ok so I'm not at all saying that carats who haven't wtched seventeen project dont appreciate Seventeen but I feel like since we're in the middle of watching it rn, there's a different kind of appreciation and pride that you feel while watching the fruits of all the work they put in. still lonely still has me on chokehold even after years since the album was released. it was just so painfully honest and i can deeply relate to hoshi and dino’s pre chorus part yet at the same time i can't stop myself from bopping to it despite the emotional lyrics 😆 the ot13 choreo for it was also unforgettable and truly iconic!

still lonely (& whats good but thats still in the future) were the first seventeen songs i got really obsessed with (random overshare: i first heard still lonely while working cashier outside at like 7pm and i remember turning my music off soon after and just thinking about that tune for the rest of the night and the following day. and I've never been easily into boygroups). still lonely and yuhaengga still hit everytime~~ a little hint for the unit versions: the korean title of monday to saturday is "man. se" (the next album is just so good, i cant wait for your reaction ^^)

This album was soooo...sooooo full of stories, their stories and I can't stretch enough how related I was even to this day 🥹 gosh and the VOCALS like ABSOLUTELY INSANE I'm so glad that u guys only got a small amount of warning (was it 😂) and going in kinda blind cause OMG can't you believe it like this's their first studio album and they pulled THESE??? Well they have been flexing their talents since predebut so it's not a completely surprise but still 😭 Hit Song/Popular Song will forever be that 'Take me to church open up the heavens gate and enlighten me' kind of song, one of my absolute bsides

Got to say that I thought that Popular was really the song of this album for me, but then I heard Say Yes from Seungkwan and Dk and was like, what?! Also was hilarious when you guys thought it ended, bc it totally got me too. Overall, it was really interesting to see the vulnerability and growing pains in this album. Honestly felt like a real step up in their music so far, which is great to see for their first full length album.

Still Lonely being the perfect example of an Idols life being on stage singing and dancing like the world is theirs. Then you have the lyrics telling the other side of their lives where we all know how stressful, tiring and of course lonely it can be.

Ahh I was so happy when I saw the videos - this album is one of my baby seventeen faves. Still Lonely, Popular Song, Space and Say Yes are my absolute b-side faves in this album + the repackaged one. But I truly love the experience this album gives. I love all the emotions and the stories they share.. it's just amazing to me how thy produced an album this good this early in their career - it's just mindblowing to me how good they are. Love that you're finally discovering these gems - more to come in the next albums!!! Enjoy!

Since we're on the journey of the 17 project, we'll get into the live performance of no F.U.N. and drift away, which the lyrics are kinda different from here. Hope the translator did put the lyrics on as well, but if not hope you can watch the lyrics as well, especially for drift away! This is the very first song that Woozi wrote, and the lyrics were more like the foreigner line saying their feeling of being far away from home.
