Ben and Tice worked so hard for Reform before Nigel stepped in, making Tice deputy. I never really liked or trusted Tice and even less so after referring to the majority who voted for Reform as 'that lot,' because they were also supporters of Tommy. I doubt Ben Habib would have referred to patriots in the same manner.

Yes- in those days they brought in expertise. Now we have people who rode the party vehicle in university, graduated with a third class degree and enter parliament never having done a days work in their lives. That needs legislating against. Maybe raise the minimum age for MPs to 35 so they have to have done something of note or be exposed as straw candidates.

I agree, it is essentially pointless, which is disastrous in a supposed democracy. The PM is allowed to dodge questions, respond to a question that hasn't been asked or fudge his answers. These are ploys politicians frequently use, and it is the responsibility of the Speaker to direct the PM to give a full and clear answers. This could be done more effectively by a Speaker who doesn't represent any political party, because regardless of the role he or she is intended to fulfill, their own bias, conscious or unconscious, is going to be present.
