My ISX600 has a faulty EGR Valve and looking to get more power once repaired. Found your videos and glad that someone upgrades these for RV's too.

Thanks for posting. I have the same done to an x15 performance. That motor sure is crammed in there. Working on mine, in a semi, was a cake walk compared to that coach. Enjoy!

It sure IS tight, and NEWELLs have more room than any other Coach. Yikes!

Hi Steve! Love your videos. did you see a fuel mileage increase from this mod? Thanks and keep up the great videos.
@RVSquaredSteve3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Pat, appreciate it! Great question about fuel mileage with the PDI Upgrade. I like to give an honest and straight-forward answer when asked. So, here it is: After months, I've seen as much as .75 mpg gain, but that's when I'm flat and doing 65 mph, which isn't often! Since we're based in California and frolic through the hills of the Rockies to get pretty much anywhere, my mileage gain will never match someone who's based in the flats and can keep their foot out of it. For any RV'r, trying to recoup the expense of a full PDI Stage 2 upgrade will lead to disappointment, not to mention missing the true target of the reason you should upgrade, which is the increase and smoothness of power/torque. The reason i say this, is because...at best...a typical RV owner is never going to clock in the kind of miles a long-haul trucker will. Now THEY, on the hand, will quickly recoup the cost even with a mere .5 mpg gain. Hope this helps you.

Wish you would of put up both results side by side to see comparison !!! BUT awesome !!

I would have as well. These printouts came from PDI and I was on the road so didn’t have the ability to make a chart. However, I later leaned how poor those figures were; due to the 115° and leaking CAC boots. A new Dyno test results would be so much better!

Great video. Thanks for posting. The initial run was in 5th gear and showed 1150 Ft Lbs. but I did not see an after modification comparison in 5th gear, only the final 4th gear run. What were the gains?
@RVSquaredSteve3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed. Sorry for the confusion. Here’s the results.. The initial run in 5th gear as 545/1100 The final in 5th was 585/1150 The final in 4th was 600/1638
@RVSquaredSteve Жыл бұрын
@@ugotitforsure3833 the dyno figures were skewed, for sure, since we later found significant leaks in two CAC boots which ended up causing a derate. Since the repair, mileage gains alone have been very good, picking up at least 1-1.5 MPG. Lifetime was 5.7 prior, and now around 7.

Do you have a corrected dyno result since one pull was made untuned in 4th gear And the tuned pull was done in 5th?
@lilgamg Жыл бұрын
Or 5th untuned and 4th tuned. The horsepower would vary on the dyno from gear to gear
@RVSquaredSteve Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no. We had so many issues with heat that day. And frankly, I found out I had two leaking CAC boots during that period. So chances are, the results would be much different now. Thanks very much for watching and commenting.

@@RVSquaredSteve are you still satisfied with the PDI tuner ? I’m looking to install one of my x15 in a dump truck
@RVSquaredSteve Жыл бұрын
@@lilgamg it is a good product in terms of versatility. Having extra gauges, forced Regen, and code resets are the true value for our coaches. I think that many people will argue just "how much" of a different feel it will give you, but most will say it helps a bit more on grades.

How much did the upgrade cost?
@RVSquaredSteve3 жыл бұрын
I happened to do it in a couple different stages. I installed the tuner first. Then I had PDI install the manifolds, along with some other work. But the manifolds and spacers run around $3500. PDI has the current prices on their website.
