This year is the first year I've seen otters in Massachusetts in over 30 years. I've seen 4 in 3 ponds very exciting.

Great job! I use the quick links on all my beaver traps too incase there is a problem and I can get away! Always awesome to catch an otter!! Thank you for sharing my friends!

I enjoy watching your videos. I loved trapping back in the 80’s in eastern Massachusetts. Still have a nice otter pelt I sent out to be tanned.

I don’t trap as I’ve never lived in an area where trapping is possible. Your commentary is succinct, informative and demonstrates your compassion for the sport.

Drowning rods and hagz brackets change the game for kayak trapping for me, just lay them in the boat and go, no blocks or cable to keep track of and lug around!

Can you use bags loaded with rocks in lieu of cinder blocks? Great vids… will be in the upper valley next month. Love stick season in NH!

What part of the process are you interested in seeing? We plan on uploading a lot more this trapping season.

@@NewEnglandNaturalsNH I would love to see the whole complete process, but I know that KZbin don’t allow certain things

Great video! The last check of the year and pulling all the traps is always a day filled with mixed emotions for me. Also… how do you keep your hip boots looking brand new and hole free!?!?
@NewEnglandNaturalsNH4 ай бұрын
Our key to nice hip boots is a new pair each year! They are great tools but unfortunately don't last much more than a season.

You guys make the best trapping content on KZbin. Meateater is to hunting, what you guys are to trapping! Just wondering if you're full income comes from New England Naturals or if you guys have another job? Again, keep up the good work!

Wow! Really appreciate the comment. NEN is our passionate side business that we run outside of our day jobs.

That was interesting about the otter. I didn’t know they were that abundant. Do you ever use the meat from the beavers? I’ve heard it’s quite good. Especially the tails. But even for dog food or something, since you probably have a ton of it.
@NewEnglandNaturalsNH4 ай бұрын
Beaver meat makes up about 50% of our annual meat consumption and we harvest both steaks and roasts from each beaver we catch. Our dog also eats beaver meat for every meal of the year! It's amazing food!
@jimf19644 ай бұрын
@@NewEnglandNaturalsNH Yeah, sorry. After this I went on to watch your skinning and harvesting meat videos, and forgot to delete this comment. I’ve heard the tails are fatty and delicious. Do you ever eat those?

About how much meat do you get from a medium size beaver? I’m looking to move to the NE from AZ and interested in trapping/hunting/fishing up there. I’ve got a nephew in NH that enjoys fishing, but may try getting him if he’s interested in other areas of the great outdoors sportsmanship.

Jake, I enjoy watching your videos! I am sorry to have to ask this in an open forum but I could not find a way to send a private message. What are those pants you are wearing in this video? I am looking for some good wool pants and it looks like that is what you often have on in your videos. Thank you for any help.
