The Mr. Hobby Gundam Color Spray cans are lacquer paints so you shouldn't need to prime first. If the product number starts with SG then it's a semi-gloss. They take forever and a day to fully dry and need to be used in a well-ventilated space (with a mask as well). And, I can't see how you can scribe and spray paint that giant thing without taking it apart honestly. It seems too big to work on while it's assembled. I like the Build * series just for the custom Gunpla conversion inspiration.

I recently watched Evangelion on Netflix. A great show. It was about military agencies treating gigantic sentient creatures as war machines to pilot, and the stress that is induced upon the children who these agencies rely upon to pilot the creatures. Balanced with slice of life drama, romance, crushes, family dynamics, and other character-driven concepts used as secondary storylines.

So you can use mr color thinner with Tamiya paints, just recommend that you use leveling thinner for it when you airbrush it on

In my opinion Gunze Premium Top Coat sprays are better than the Super Clear, at least matt and semi-matt. I recommend you to try it. In addition, the Top Coats are acrylics, so not so aggressive to the surface.

That Gunze Sangyo thinner is for Mr Color which is a lacquer. You should stick with that X-20A thinner for Tamiya paint. And even if you spray Mr Color, you should consider their leveling thinner instead which would give you a better gloss. Thanks for the NEWTYPE promo as I've been looking for a reliable source of Mr Color outside of eBay. Tell those guys to keep more of their stuff in stock. Can't believe they're out of C001 gloss white.

You'll risk damage if you don't disassemble and store in it's original packaging. If you don't have your original packaging, you can probably purchase a box large enough for the display and bubble wrap it. You can probably separate the torso from the legs and package it in two pieces. The real concern here is minimizing damage. The display will look horrible if it was damaged.

Use Hand-truck to get your RX-78 giant Gundam out (standing). To secure you might want to wrap him up first before using rope to affix him to the hand truck. I'd use pallet wrap if possible or packaging tape but with the sticky side up instead to the Gundam. Of course it'll be sticky to your touch but not to the Gundam, which is what you want. You don't want to deal with removing the tape glue if any left later. You can rent a hand-truck from Lowes or Home Depot.

For the big gundam you had, please make sure to wrap up the all the joint areas with bubble wraps before moving him.

i think you'll need a straight up paint gun for that big guy. an air brush will take you a lot more time than what you're expecting. spray cans will give you more coverage but not that efficient. this endeavor is like painting a smart car +plus masking and a lot of color separation. LoL. but what ever floats your boat. we'll wait for the progress.

Strongly suggest you take him apart, wrap it in bubble wrap or packing peanuts and put it in boxes. If you ship it by fright they only do tail board delivery and bringing it inside will cost extra. In addition, the weight is more manageable for moving, the last thing you want is accidents involving an 80lb gundam.

Hey Meli, grab the Mr Surfacer Levelling Thinner. Fantastic for Tamiya Acrylics and Lacquers. Obviously it is good for Mr Colour lacquers but it works with the aqueous/acrylic range as well. Use a spraying mask with all of them though. Tamiya and Mr Colour paints aren't true acrylics and have some lacquer nasties in them.That Mr Colour thinner is definately lacquer which is super bad. Any of the Mr Surfacer range is lacquer, again be careful with mask.

I found that Tamiya paint is compatible with pretty much anything. When airbrushing my models I was usingregular alcohol as a thinner so I think you're safe

your mr hobby thinner is technically a laquer thinner but i've used it with tamiya acrylics and it works p'good. the mr hobby acrylic thinner is the "aqueos" line

You can make a board with wheels and put him on it easier to push for heavy things To spray paint the big guy your going to need a lot more than that for each part your looking at maybe 3-7 cans to paint him properly but I can’t wait to see the finish guy

if your tamiya is water or enamel based then Mr Color Thinner won't work. i tried it for fun with some left over paint. it goes weird. so i don't suggest using it. rule of thumb, lacquer paint use lacquer thinner from what i learn.

Your right, Tamiya thinner for Tamiya paints, Mr. Hobby thinner for Mr. Hobby paints. There are certain chemicals that are not compatible with other brands.

Since you use acrylic paints, you could use craft paints, which are way cheaper and available at any craft store and even walmart. I use acrylics and I've been using craft paints for years with award-winning results. They thin down and clean up with water. Also, use Krylon or Rustoleum primer! For that size perhaps better get shop paint car... But car paint it's really expensive you have to polish the PVC firts and that's it's very time comsuming... but the idea of get that giant shining like a car it seems awesome to me, but maybe not the best idea for any wallet. I prefer the camo thing imo👍 ah! a Pick up truck or renting a truck that’s the way when you change house and do it by your own with the help of some friends or family if you have the time of course.

That's good, building Gunpla is a VERY awesome thing to do, the straight out of the box kit buildings are fun to do and customizations/kit bashings are ENDLESS and what i mean by kit bashing is that you can take Parts from 1 kit and parts from another kit and just put them together to get a whole new design of Gunpla and i have done PLENTY of kit bashings to know the possibilities are endless and once you get that UNIQUE kit bashing design you want all you have to do is choose what paints you want the parts to be painted in and in whatever colors you want them in.

The Build Fighters Anime series is a separate series from the Build Divers Anime series, even though they share a similarity within the Anime show, but they are not connected in anyway, but i think that the Build Fighters and Build Fighters: TRY anime shows might be a Anime series within the Build Diver Anime saga because in Build Divers they showed a Gunpla that is VERY similar to Tryon 3 and in the Build Divers Anime show, they show the Gundam Base and the Unicorn Gundam Statue to, but in the Gundam Build Fighters anime series the store that Fumina and Sekai go to is called G-Muse, you should really watch Gundam Build Divers and Gundam Build Divers: Rise Gunpla meli, they are PRETTY awesome shows, especially Build Divers: Rise.

the EVA movies diverge from the anime and do a new ending. The first movie is a complete scene by scene remaster. 2nd one diverges a little at the end. 3rd one is basically a new thing. The last movie was delayed. I loved building the Unit 01 RG. I totally will buy Unit 02. Have fun building it.
