For the Daikin fit heat pump, is there a way to adjust the fan speed? I just recently had a Daikin fit HP system, the noise level is crazy, and the fan seems running 100% full blast all the time, not really as what they claimed as a variable speed system... is that any advice?

What is the difference between DZ6VS and RXTQ 4 ton heat pumps? Which one considered better?

Hi Josh, I had a Fit installed back in April here in Columbia SC. So far, its been working good. At the time, you mentioned that Daikin was coming out with a remote temp sensor that could be paired with the Touch thermostat. Did you learn any new information about when that might become available? Since my Touch is in the same room as my gas log, it would be nice to have a remote sensor elsewhere in the home to better reflect the overall temperature this winter.

I live in central Canada and have been looking at replacing my functioning but 19 year old electric furnace and AC unit. I was about to buy a 2.5 ton Diakin Fit and air handler with a 15kw heat kit. Then I heard about Diakin coming out with new tech later this year. Then I saw your video. Good stuff by the way. My question is, with what you learned on your plant visit would you advise someone to wait until next year before buying a Diakin Fit? The current model says it will be 100% efficient at 5F or -15C. Will the performance numbers for this size of unit be dramatically better? Thanks for your help.

I'm not 100% positive but I believe Canada is switching to the A2L refrigerants just like the US is… If that's true, you may want to hang on a little bit longer and when the R32 equipment starts coming out next year, you'll be able to buy system with the new refrigerants.

For the smart connected 24 volt thermostat the Daikin rep mentioned, does this mean a user can connect multiple mini-splits to one thermostat in the future?

I am so surprised how behind America is compared to the Daikin Products in other Countries (Australia). I understand that each Market/Country is different and Products are developed to match that market preferences. I sold Daikin for about 21 years and have been in the HVAC Industry since 1971.

What's the one technology that you think every country should have? I'm sure we are so behind that. I probably won't even know what you're talking about ha ha.

@@NewHVACGuide Australia has been using Inverter (Variable Speed) Compressors since the 1980s. Single Wall Splits, Multi Splits, Ducted Splits are ALL Inverter System. Many Advantages including 'soft start' (slow speed) and ability to reduce power to maintain de-hum operation. Most also have the ability to ramp up to 130% of the rating for a period of time. Even Commercial Projects have VRV/VRF Systems as the main player. These are sold here in Air Cooled as well as Water Cooled condenser types. (Apartment Towers with system per Floor) connected to Cooling Tower/ Boiler Plant on the Roof. Also, each system is Heat Recovery, so Sun side of Tower needs cooling in winter and the Heat absorbed is transfered via refrigerant system to the shade side of Tower. All indoor units have independant heating/cooling operation. Here in Australia, the Sun is across the North Facade. Rise in the East sets in the West

I just bought a Daikin Fit system for my home to replace a Goodman system I bought 11 years ago. You call the fit a more affordable system. $18500 is affordable? I bought it because of the reputation for efficiency and quietness. The price was tough to swallow.
@NewHVACGuide4 ай бұрын
Ouch! That must be a premium price from a premium contractor. Fits are being put in here in my area for thousands less than that.

Do your research before buying a Daikin system. We have one that is less than 6 years old and we have had to replace the coils twice and the compressor once, so far. We have regular twice a year maintenance and inspections done on it. The parts were covered under the warranty but Daikin refuses to consider paying us back for the labor charge we had to pay our air conditioning company. We had a Trane before this that was 19 years old and never had any problems. Daikin was highly recommended by our air conditioning company but I’m not impressed with the quality or their lack of interest in building customer loyalty
@dennisgarza50 Жыл бұрын
Daikin is one of the only manufacturers that offer a 12 year labor warranty, maybe your contractor opted not to pay to offer it.
