This was a great video thanks for showing your closet. I've been on ATT fiber for over two years my ONT is installed in the garage. So all they really did was bring the ont inside the home and connect with a fiber patch cable. Also when speeds increase past a gig it would require a complete overhaul for most homes my house is wired with cat5e as well as 1 gig switches. You could also implement link aggregation for your servers at least.

To be more accurate ... Isn't what they actually did was removed the ONT from the garage altogether. And then moved the fiber run indoors to a "fiber jack" installed near the gateway. Then ran an optical fiber patch cable from the fiber jack to the SFP module inserted into its port on the gateway? I realize there's some terminology confusion here with many loosely calling an ONT a "fiber jack." As services like Google Fiber does.

This router does support advanced smart home settings like device prioritization and scheduling when specific devices can be online and when they install this they will rip off the white ONT device off your wall and only will use the fiber cord directly

I got at&t fiber like 2-3 years ago and still have the old Fiber to Ethernet connection gateway...will it make a big difference to upgrade to this new direct fiber gateway setup?

Yes because now fiber is terminated to ur router ONT with sfp module so no ethernet.

In that case you have no choice but to connect to WiFi. But every xbox should come with at least 1 network port.

I can’t find much info on a slow flashing white light. All I saw was “it’s powering up”. Any idea what the slow white flashing light means? Just moved into a new apartment and att customer support wasn’t able to boost the signal. Anyway, just curious if you’ve seen this and know any fixes?

New Gateway needs fiber too. Just the placement of ONT is different. They can revisit. Controlled Release is soon.

@@AliMKRaja By Making Fiber directly connects to gateway which requires you to pay $10 a month equipment fee. They bypass new law which ISPs can't charge you when using own equipment. Before they couldn't charge you equipment fee if you used own router from the ONT box.

You will need fiber to be able to use the sfp module. Ethernet only goes in the WAN port.

Not sure what you mean. If you want a file sharing system on your network you will need to invest in a NAS.

I finally went through the entire process and it started to work. One needs to be sure you have the Linksys router remeasure and rate the actual speed it is getting. That, and even turning off the priority system in Linksys.

@@AliMKRaja I finally figured it out. I followed instructions and rebooted both items separately. The Linksys MX10600 needed to be reset and remove the device priority method. That, and have the Linksys actually re-read what speed it is actually getting. The speed is back up to what I am paying for.

You can reboot it through the smart home app or admin panel. If not just unplug it and plug it back

Unlike Spectrum router that had two different SSID one for 2.4, one for 5, this new ATT router only shows one! How do I switch to 2.4 hz for setup of the devices that only work on that frequency?

I have this now with att fiber. How do I connect my Samsung tv via cat6? I plugged it in to the yellow ports and it won’t connect.

Are you receiving traffic to this gateway? If so, just connect cat 6 from yellow port to Samsung. It should be as simple as that. Do make sure your samsung switches from WiFi to Wired connection in tv settings. Sometimes you may have to manually push it to do so.

It was plugged in wrong and when i would plug it in right it wasn't connected lol. I have no idea or I do to an extent. I didn't know if this was the.. actual modem or connection. Or if it was just the base do to speak and I needed my old modem with eidmfi to connect to it. That's one I think alot if ppl will ask who know about it and have trouble with set up.

Got this last week and the AT&T tech was clueless. He thought people only connected to the Internet via wifi. I taught him about local area networks and IP pass through while he was here. This service is wickedly fast. I am getting the full 1GB up and down.

@@conservativestrawman9837 honestly i have no idea,but yeah i feel like it doesn't,either way its the same internet coming from the same line,nonhardlines shouldn't throttle your speed.if your device dosent have great wifi specificationson your phone like 4x4 MIMO or wifi 6 expect slow speeds.If you cant get this router and you have 1gbps+ service buy a wifi 6 router and make sure it has MU-MIMO,if it has those antennas then thats mimo.

I just called AT&T and the rep said she was sending me out a new “fiber router” which is assume this is. My current router is a bgw210 and she assured me I can set up this new fiber router on my own. I asked if she was sure, as I don’t want a tech having to come into my home now, as I have a special needs child. She said yes, it would be no problem to self install. Now seeing your video as well as others, I’m starting to believe she’s wrong. Ugh.

Since this gateway has the ONT integrated into it? And I also assume the red colored ethernet port is for the option of bypassing this gateway's internal ONT to allow for ease of installation by letting an existing external ONT to remain and avoid the expense and/or hassle of having to move the fiber cable to the vicinity of the gateway and then installing a fiber jack?

After my father got AT&T fiber installed a few weeks ago, they set him up with the newest model BGW 320. I convinced AT&T to send out a tech to come and swap out my router for this newer router. There is a noticeable increase in Wi-Fi speeds especially on devices with Wi-Fi six. It is definitely a more advanced and more current router compared to the BGW210. Just be careful, if you ask AT&T to replace your router you will need to demand a service tech to come to your home. AT&T is ordering system will automatically order a replacement router that matches your existing router no matter what the customer support tells you, they said multiple times that they would send me the newer BGW320, yet I received multiple BGW210 in the mail. You have to have a tech come and replace the existing ONT and router. I hope that is useful, if I were you I would do anything and everything I could to get AT&T to upgrade you to the more advanced router for the same fee that you were already paying per month.
