"Newfoundland is Newfoundland " I just decided while watching this video. I'm going to Salvage this summer. Thanks Mark.

Oh Mark, I’ve been trying to tell people how beautiful Salvage is for years and years now. I don’t think half the tourist that come up the Terranova Park come down that way at all. They just go on to Bonavista or up the shore to head up towards Twillingate or Fogo, but the people that come there are really full of praise for salvage. I didn’t grow up in Salvage or anywhere near it but my mother is from there and I felt that I knew it because I heard so much about it. I spent a lot of time there and took a lot of pictures. I just love the place and of course if you’re an artist, it’s an artist dream.

It’s such an awesome area but I feel like it’s taken for granted. Let’s just keep telling everyone about Salvage!

Oh the nostalgia! We use to go to splash n putt almost every summer as a kid. And the last few years I've taken my own family there. And we explored the Eastport peninsula when we were there. I enjoyed this video same as always .

Thanks buddy! I took my son to Splash n Putt last summer for his first time and I had to peel him out of there. So great that it is still around!

I never did the Eastport as a kid. If we were lucky we might go to Butterpot park for the day. We sometimes went out to the Cape Shore or Ferryland or Carbonear, wherever my fathers friends and the folk scene took us. As my friends got older and started doing Baycations on the Eastport they all say Happy Adventure is the hidden gem and Chucky's Restaurant is one of the best on the whole island, better than most of the downtown dining scene.

Chucky’s and Happy Adventure Inn are operated by a family that used to run a dedicated Chucky’s location downtown St John’s back around 20 years ago. They made the best fish n chips around back then and I bet it’s every bit as good now. They’re also the nicest ppl you can imagine, and they love taking care of their guests

I remember that place. I hung out downtown all throughout my teenage years and early twenties. I knew their daughter a little bit but she was a few years younger.
