I was just back home for a funeral and had to take the ferry to Bell Island. We saw a whale on the way there. I've taken my mainlander wife out on the boat running out of St. John's harbour. We saw two or three different whales, one of which came so close to the boat you could almost touch it. They jumped out of the water too. I hear Molly Bawn just a little further south in Mobile is fantastic. Not so much for the jigs and reels but for the informative researcher who guides you.

Another beautiful video, Mark, and I thank you for it! I am too prone to motion sickness to enjoy the boat tours (I've had to get out of the indoor pool at the Aquarena in St. John's, and I even get sick stood on a wharf looking at the boats tied up! Not much of a Newfoundlander, hey b'y? 🙄😊) As a Kilbrider with relatives in Bay Bulls, I'm well familiar with their services by word of mouth. I've brought quite a few tourists to and from both docksides and have heard nothing but high praises about the experiences. The O'Brien and Gatherall families have lived in Bay Bulls for generations, and all the kids went to school together. Yes, they are competing businesses, but they are both very respectful of each other's services and regularly refer overflow business to each other and, as you witnessed in the video, regularly advise each other of location of whales and icebergs, so that all tourists have an opportunity to have a great experience. Both class acts! I look forward to the Elliston video and, on your recommendation, went back and rewatched the 7 Lighthouses video. Loved it! Cheers!

Have a bit of a friend that just returned from a trip to Newfoundland and drove for a whale watching tour and he asked if he was guaranteed to see a whale! I couldn't believe he asked! But he ended up not taking the tour. I'd be totally satisfied with just seeing the puffins!! That really must have been amazing!!
