Thank you for this video comparing the Open Bible and Scofield Reference Bible.I bought my copy of the Scofield Reference Bible years ago and I find it helpful as a new Christian, later a booklet Why I left the Scofieldism by William Cox which put down Scofield Bible was given to me.Despite what the critics say about the SRB I still find it helpful because the Bible text is inspired and not the notes knowing it's written by a fallible sinful saved by grace and there imperfect.I think I try to set aside to buy myself a copy of the Open Bible.

I'm happy to see someone as enthusiastic about the book intros to the Open Bible! They are awesome! I started out with the MacArthur and then the ESV and still think the Open bible intros are better. The only study bible I've found comparable is the Reformation Heritage Study bible. But the Open Bible might still be better due to less theological bias. Just a great study bible. I have more than 1 copy.

Joseph Canfield wrote an expose about Scofield and his Bible. I noticed a Scofield note in Revelation says the word "church" is not mentioned in Revelation chapters 6-19, so they are about the tribulation period, not the church age.. The "word" church is also not mentioned Mark, Luke, John and other New Testament books. Using the same reasoning, these books are also for the tribulation period and not for the church age. There are synonyms for the church in Revelation. Scofield caused the believers in his note or notes to miss important church history.

It's all good! …...I also like the Scofield 3 but the one thing there is I for some reason don't like the type in the Scofield 3 and wish it was Oxford style like the Old Scofield.

The same bookstore that I bought the TCR Bible I told you about for a steal? Well I also found a 1975 edition Open Bible, leather bound (I think) (I didn’t find an actual numbered edition I.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.), but there were 3 of them and the one I got, again in pretty decent shape and imprinted with a name on it for 19.95! Again....was pretty excited!

My first "real" Bible my mother gave me was in the late 70s to early 80s, which was a brown bonded leather open study Bible. I, sadly, lost it around 97 amongst some moving around. To this day I regret that and miss that Bible.

@@NewLifeOfAlbanyGa that’s not what I meant / I know ppl buy bibles - my statement was “people sell bibles !??!” Meaning- I just assumed that’s what Christian bookstores were for and I know not every community has one but that’s what Amazon and the internet is for 🤷♂️
