I like these long videos and hang on every word. Outstanding reviews with great insight. The yellowish paper I prefer as when I read in bright light or outside in the sunlight the white paper glares back at me too much and almost requires sunglasses. The newer NASB Ryrie's has center column references which I don't like but I went on ebay and had to buy a 20 year old Ryrie NASB to get the side column references as it's better that way because the side column lines up with the same verse it's associated to and you don't have to hunt down the line for the reference plus the side column gives room for my notes. The KJV Ryrie is still side column but I prefer Ryrie in NASB because that's what he liked best. I have a NIV Ryrie but he always corrects the translation in his notes saying "better translated would be...." so I just do the NASB Ryrie where he is happy with the translation. Even in the KJV he in his notes writes "better translated would be....". These two Bibles are the heavyweight division in Study Bibles. I believe Dake, Scofield and or Scofield 3, Ryrie, Thompson are the best.

I use a Holman reference Bible for just reading and I have Scofield, Ryrie and Thompson Chain Reference to consult the notes and study materials. The most important thing regardless of the notes is the KJV text. Everyone has their own preferences

I never understood the pre-trib rapture until I studied dispensationalism, which now I pretty much wholly accept. When one rightly divides scripture ... the pre-trib rapture makes complete sense.

@@BeingConsciousness-yw3zw For 40 years previous to the last 1 I would have agreed with you. What IS the Tribulation. It is Jacob's Trouble. It is a resumption after a 2000 year postponement of God's dealing with Israel. The church, us, is something no-one but Paul ever suspected or could search out. It was a mystery 'hid in God' as Paul explains. When this period comes to a close there is no reason to expose the church to the final week of years God has ordained for Israel. Thus the Rapture, the snatching away, makes more logical sense occurring prior to that last week. It helps to realize Mathew 24 was spoken to Jews for Jews. Not to those saved by grace through faith.

@Forg1ven S1nner No. Study bibles in general are just a lot of man's opinion. Just read Paul's letters. Paul did not write Hebrews by the way. Do a word search in the King James on 'but now' and 'mystery' and 'dispensation'. Jesus was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. He did not reveal His program for the gentiles until He gave it to Paul mid Acts. We are living in the dispensation of grace ... not the Kingdom the Jews rejected and which will not come again until He does.

I use a Scofield but I adhere to Classic Post Trib (not pre-wrath) because I believe the text more than the notes.

Great review, thank you - just got my hands on an NIV Ryrie and had a new Scofield on hand as well. Seems to me the Ryrie is quite good. I generally have moved away from them to just appreciate the biblical text though!

Great job comparing these bibles! Scofield is really popular in our area but I knew of one preacher who only used a Ryrie and that is the only study bible he would own

Thanks for making this video appreciate it very much.God blessed me in that I was able to buy a used Scofield Reference Bible hardback edition when I was still working, however I was disappointed to not find this edition does not have the copy of famous booklet Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth.After I retired from work,I was able to save some money from my separation pay and I was able to buy recently a Ryrie Study Bible in KJV hardback edition also.I heard in a lecture by Dr.James White on Bible versions and took note of a little difference in KJV Bible,the Oxford and Cambridge on Jeremiah 34:16 .According to him the correct rendering is the on Cambridge edition.

Ive got a 1917 new printing of the old Scofield and a 1967 New Scofield. I do not have a Ryrie study KJV but I want one. Are the older Ryrie's as good as the new ones as far as content?

Since my early conversion to messianic Jewish-roots doctrines, I see the errors of Hyper-dispensationalism. Reading a whole system into the Bible and doing careful right division are to different things. So many verses refuting once saved always saved, so how smart are these dispensational leaders really? I thank God for Dr James Brown, who helped allot to see some things.

reed scott Iam ex mid-acter I know about mystery truth revealed first to Paul, few things changed, not everything. Paul’s Gospel for today agree, that changed and few other mystery truth revelation, but not everything! Most none Pauline verses to apply to believers today. That’s the error of hypers. Do not reject none Pauline verses unless you have many clear verses that say so. If you want a full mid-acts doctrines refutation, say so and I will give you.

You say that the Scofield study bible is the first study bible, and then the Ryrie bible, but what about Dake annotated reference bible or the companion bible ? When were publish? I think those study biblie are older than the Ryrie bible
