i got shark heart for Christmas because i legitimately cried when you read the quotes from it in your wrap-up video and… my word i read that whole book in about 3 hours. i’ve read it three times already and am working on a fourth. i sob every time. it’s such a profound story of love and loss and how the human heart is just so beautifully fragile and resilient all at once. SUCH a good book, i’ve recommended it to everyone everywhere!!

Since finding Half a Soul in the corner of my small local bookstore 3 years ago I seriously have taken to reading it at least twice a year. It might be because it feels like a literary love child between howls moving castle and pride and prejudice for me, but I find it to be such a happy breath of fresh air that it has stayed at the top of my recommendations list. None of my friends have gotten around to reading it yet though, so to see you not only read it this year, but for it to make your top books of 2024 too has made me so inexplicably happy ☺️ Always excited to see new videos from you!!

I would highly recommend Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. It's the kind of book that you shouldn't really know anything about going in (though if you do read the summary it is pretty vague). The writing is incredible and the way the story unfolds and culminates is truly masterful. Idk I was really emotional by the end but I gave it 5 stars. Thanks again Lexi❤ (also, if you ever feel like you wanna read an extended version of the moms hippie commune subplot, I highly recommend “Arcadia” by Lauren Groff, somehow the intensity of feeling felt similar to this book)
