Missed the Darth Vader reference in the first scene of episode 1. Captain Silvo grabs the captain by the neck choking him. That captain explains that there is no money this a bulk freighter. Silvo responds with “if this a bulk freighter why is your vault magnetically sealed?” This ties back to Darth Vader in New Hope where he’s choking the rebel captain where the rebel says that “this is a councillor ship.” Vader responds with, “if this a councillors ship where is the ambassador?” Maybe I’m wrong but the scenes seemed familiar.

Honestly I've been getting The Giver vibes about that colony. Like it was some sort of lost mineral planet from the Old Republic that locked itself under the Barrier to protect their financial empire. That whole, "we're going to give you a test and that will determine what job you get to do" is almost verbatim from the books.

That would also explain why the kids still think the Jedi are around. Because no one in the colony has any outside contact with the world.

I think the question of At Attin is definitely a little more complex than it first appears. The Old Republic credits, the references to and use of the Great Work, and how the planet is isolated from the rest of the galaxy (Neels' referring to an "alien" in Ep2 when he sees a species not encountered on At Attin). Even Wim's holopad is a subtle misdirect (easily detected if you can read the Aurabesh, but the Jedi on a jungle planet, fighting a monster that looks an awful lot like a Rancor - it is intentionally similar to Luke Skywalker's story). I believe At Attin has been isolated since at least the Old Republic era, with the legends of a pirate treasure sprouting from there.

The Great Works were a group of projects undertaken by the Galactic Republic under Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh during the High Republic Era. The Starlight Beacon, a massive space station constructed on the frontier of the galaxy, was one of Soh's Great Works. Other Great Works that Soh had planned included the Republic Fair, construction of communications relays throughout the galaxy, the negotiation of a treaty between the Quarren and Mon Calamari, cracking the code on bacta cultivation, and other technological innovations.
@kevinpatrickfoleyАй бұрын
This is an important point. The money and this point to then being sealed off around the high Republic. The fact that the story pad also mentions Lina feels like Lina Soh, though she's not a Jedi. But who knows how these stories get changed over time.

The whole story so far is giving strong Treasure Island vibes. The characters seem to be facets of the characters from that book, like Wim and the other kids are a reference to Jim Hawkins (Wim, Jim) and Jod/Silvo seems like a reference to John Silver. Sm-33 is an obvious reference to Mr. Smee but could also be the Ben Gunn character since he is the sole survivor of the crew who found At-Attin or Treasure Island.

My theory: At-Attin is a mineral rich planet, specifically the mineral that’s used to create and distribute Republic Credits back in the day. It’s sealed off for outsiders to protect the currency, and it’s forbidden to get out so habitants do not know how valuable their planet is. I also think that either nobody on the planet actually knows what’s going on since this information has been lost in time or that Wim’s mother figured it out (so we knows where he got his sense of adventure from) and paid the price for it.
