I think the main reason why the negativity toward droid returned for Din is because it's specifically battle droids. The same droids responsible for the initial trauma

It makes complete sense that Din’s previous distrust of droids is stoked by a whole bunch of droid’s malfunctioning violently. Particularly when some of those droids are the same B2 battle droids that killed his family.

I think he definitely stopped hating droids, we are shown that through his interactions with the BD unit on Tattoine and with the astromech he at the very least now tolerates them. Most likely learning that *Battle droids* are still used and they have gone wild made him mad.

“Plazier” does not mean peaceful. It means, “Pleasure” in many Latinate-branch languages. It’s a literal Pleasure Dome, which refers to both Kublai Khan’s Pleasure Dome in Coleridge’s poem and then the 80’s hit album/song from FGTH. Van Halen also wrote a song called’ “Pleasure Dome.”

At the beginning of the season I'm pretty sure Din says something about how "it has to be" IG-11 cause that's the only droid he trusts (I'm paraphrasing) him forgiving other droids hasn't been fully established and being surrounded by battle droids I could see being upsetting. Even with the R5 unit he brought it along begrudgingly.

I always read Mando's character growth as learning to trust individual droids but still mostly distrusting them as a whole (though maybe also begrudgingly trusting droids trusted by people he trusts, like Peli Motto's droid crew). This is why he was intent on reviving IG-11 specifically and went to great lengths to attempt to accomplish it. Additionally, R5 literally just ratted out the covert's location to one of their old war buddies, so I'm sure that didn't help much with Mando's trust levels.

The Mandalorian keeps getting better, every week! The less; "Star Wars," they try making it, the further afield they go, into wilder and even wackier territory, the more it feels like Star Wars! Even in the Clone Wars series, it was always the weird and wonderful, (a strange stop-over on Mortis, the Nightsisters on Dathomir, General Krell, in the Darkness on Umbara, and even Colonel Meebur Gascon and his; "D-Squad," etc.) that made for some of the best, most memorable arcs of storytelling in the entire saga. Whether you're a fan of the current season of the Mandalorian or not, it's arguably impossible to deny they're still using the series to further expand the boundaries of what Star Wars can be! And as for me? I am ALL IN for that! Not every episode, (or even every season,) is going to be everyone's favorite, which is why it's awesome we're living through these times, when there's no end in sight for many more! (Especially for someone who lived through the so-called; "dark times," following Return of the Jedi. When, for all we knew, any future prospects of getting any more stories told in that Galaxy would be limited to whatever fans could get Lucasfilm to approve of. (What became the; "expanded universe.") (Now; "Legends.") So, it's difficult to not appreciate whatever we get, when we were for so long left to go without. _(I'm just sayin' ✌️)_

Din has grown to accept only the droids that he has physically seen in positive lights. He is a hunter, after all, and IB earning his respect after fighting alongside him is not an unorthodox idea. Overall message of the episode: Violence doesn't solve everything. Mando's approach to the Ugnaughts, Bo-Katan's with the Droids, and the hand-off of the Dark Saber by protecting a fellow Mandalorian rather than fighting them in one on one combat. It is very distracting with the cameos though...

The guard on the right when they first walk into the feast chamber is director Bryce Dallas Howard. Tackling the droid through a window is a nod to Bladerunner (as is much of the city design in those scenes). The techno leader seated at the table in the prequels flashback is Wat Tambor.

Seems like they're showing good leader qualities in Din and Bo, maybe insinuating they need to lead Mandalore together.

So is the mon calamari kid at the beginning the son of the prince from the clone wars episodes? Cause that's a fun cross over

I think people are misunderstanding how great Din's disdain for droids is. For example, both his parents and most of his childhood village were massacred by battle droids. That is some very serious childhood trauma. He befriended an Ugnaught whom he learned to trust, and he trusted his work (IG-11), that doesn't mean he's learned to trust any random droid... he barely trusts people!

He learns to tolerate droids, and pretty frequently interacts with friendly or docile ones in a completely calm manner... But tell him that an entire planet's droid infrastructure is going haywire and attacking people randomly, and you can expect him to be perfectly content with destroying them mercilessly.
