Yea my theory has always been that the council was going to promote him to the rank of master shortly anyway, and Sidious knew that and decided to force him onto the Coucil a little sooner. Which he knew would anger them and cause them to NOT grant him the rank he obviously deserved, which would heighten his frustration and cause him to lash out, which basically ended his groundwork phase of turning Anakin against the council.

And right before going to the Chancellor's little office place windu says if you are right about him being the sith lord, you will then have gained my trust, meaning that he probably would've became a master and also in a twisted way is probably why windu didn't see Anakin's betrayal coming as he was right about Palpatine being the sith and therefore windu now trusted more than ever, exactly when he should've had his doubts

a small addition to the brilliant description of the lightsaber fight between the masters and palpatine: The only reason why Mace Windu was able to survive and then get the upper hand on palpatine was because his fighting style (forgot the name) is based on countering the enemy's. You forgot that part of the reasons for Anakin being so questionable of the pregnancy and Obi-wan visiting Padme is that the novel hints that he thought an affair was going on and that is why Obi-Wan was brought to kill him. His paranoia, anger, pride, weaknesses, etc. all lead to his downfall rather than just "All about Padme and not being a Master." You can couple this more with Ahsoka as we learn from TCW.

The reason they are in the dark for the baby reveal scene is cos they can’t be seen together discussing something like that

in anakins defense that robot hand had a recall for not being able to cut off force chorale but anakin was so busy with protective duty, his AOL message box overfilled and he didn’t “got mail”

When everyone else is writing their essay about the book you read but you're explaining why Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie "Something's not right here. I can feel it!

I think “I know there’s still...” is finishing by Luke in Return of The Jedi by “I know there’s still good in him.”
