They used to have a Typhoon Lagoon mug that was the same shape as the resort refillable mugs except it didn't have a handle, and it had a little fake slip of leather that went around the body of the mug with Typhoon Lagoon printed on it. They couldn't even give them away fast enough. I also think the mug will be hard to carry with hot coffee in it. I personally use the handle to hang a carobiner on with my name tag and use the same carobiner to clip it to my bag.

Tervis Tumblers began largely serving the Boating and RV industry and their claim to fame beyond the stuff they sell via usual retail is that as long as you're not violating copyrights (i.e. Mickey etc. etc.) you can send them a design online and they make a great tumbler out of it, custom. THey're very insulated and high quality. Lots of people get them with their boat name, name of a vacation cabin, horse stable, whatever. BUT clearly the mug handle argument should be resolved by whether it is easier to Lady-and-the-Tramp a drink with or without one (smile)

Handle-less mugs not a good idea. How many times do you see a dad with a handful of mugs to refill while mom is back in the room giving the kids a bath. Very surprised Disney is doing this.

We don't take the mugs into the parks, we usually take water bottles with filters to use the fountains during the day, so I'm ok with no handles so I can use it at home and in my car. Now, that being said, I get both sides of this argument; no handles so it fits in cup holders and handles for people carrying cups to families. Disney should give people a choice, I'd personally like to see that. Now, I also love the idea of resort specific mugs! That would be so fun!!

If Disney does a trial of offering both styles of mugs, I will bet anything that the current handled mugs will sell more. most people won't care, and will give a confused look to the cashier as to why is there an option.

Handleless mugs? Bad idea especially for kids. They will be dropping them all the time. If they really wanted to try this, then yes i agree they should give an option of handle or not. And I would still bet the ones with the handles will sell far more than without.

Boardwalk is BY FAR the best service at WDW. Totally agree! RE. the "ceiling" question? The Economy SUCKS! People are seeing nearly a decade of wage stagnation IF they have jobs or haven't been switched to part time. Sure, the headlines and fears are real, but the bottomline is that prices matter and the "pool" of people able to afford a Disney vacation in this country, let alone overseas, is just plain smaller. The fact that Disney has a certain level of corporate arrogance re. not adjusting and presuming people will just pay up is the "lag" in the adjustments you are now just seeing re. discounts etc. etc.

I've been a loyal listener for a few years now, but today I was really impressed when my non-disney loving mom (shocking!) was listening to the show for the first time and exclaimed in amazement, "OMG who are these people?! I was there in March and it was slam packed! Then we went back in July and it seemed so empty! I think it's the Pulse shooting and the alligator. I'm the hugest WDW addict ever and after the alligator I was creeped out! If I had not been a true addict I would have cancelled my July trip. It is good for discounts though!

+Michael Buckley we walked around the beach at the GF and said a prayer. There were kids swimming in the pool. The fences help you feel safer than I would if they weren't there. I couldn't help but stare at the water all around the WDW resort. We were staying in a river view at POFQ and I was a little creeped out. But they have signs everywhere now.

+Michael Buckley yes they have put up fences all around the beaches from GF to Poly they were putting large rocks behind the fences when we were there. To keep the people out if the water. Anyway as a mom it makes me feel better to have the fence.

Well you may have had an awesome concierge experience at your hotel. but at the Disneyland Hotel, theirs is beyond lousy! Stayed there after saving for a year for a once in a lifetime experience for my daughter. Had bugs in the room, broken phone and reading lamp, chipped and scarred furniture (paint/stain scraped off as well). Bell service nowhere to be found had to scream for somebody to show up (after calling out twice already and waiting for quite sometime before that). Disneyland Hotel did NOTHING to make it better. Did NOT come to fix ANYTHING after I called it in.

Speaking of old time Disney service.... I had the strangest experience ever talking on the phone with Disney. I had a question about a resort and while the lady was looking up the answer to my question, she was carrying on this weird conversation with me about how much she hated port Orleans French quarter and it was just baffling! Very unprofessional. She sounded very young which is fine but I just think she might not have been properly trained. I've been noticing that a lot with the college students that work there. Kinda disappointing :(
