This is my childhood. Saginaw was the big city and we always watched this channel.

Keep trying to remember what I was doing this night when I was 5 and this was on my dad's TV ❤❤

I was 13 years old....watching this at my Grandparents cabin on Secord Lake in Alger Michigan. Likely laying down on the couch while my Grandparents sat in their chairs and watched the news. It was a very different world....more human than what we suffer through today. TPTB ruined this state, nation... In 1985 there was still a sizable middle class. The schools were relatively well funded and there was hope for at least a decent future. But that was short lived because shortly after this was broadcasted...GM began the massive destruction of the auto industry in Michigan. It has never been the same... These videos remind me of better days....

Man... seemed a much better time: common sense, optimism, modesty, overall genuine goodness... and before a lot of cable, internet, and a virtual world.

I'm weird, but the music they used at the end of the newscast (22:00 or so) is some of my favorite music. I wish there was a way to have a copy of that.

Not sure I've ever seen so much sports in a single newscast.

True, plus the news anchor presented the weather, which was odd.

@@Rob_Kates I've noticed a lot of stations in California back then (usually smaller ones) didn't have weathercasters in every newscast, presumably because of their mild climate. But in Michigan? In the Wintertime? Very odd, indeed.
