NEWS FLASH: ICM 2025 new releases

Hi Jamie! Before an interview with Valeriia, ICM's managing director, Alex at Mann's Model Moments asked his subscribers for any questions, and even suggestions for upcoming kits. I threw in a request for a Hampden in 1/48th scale. They saw the comment, acted upon it and during the actual interview Valeriia mentioned the plans for going ahead with the kit I suggested. All very cool! I am still smiling after the news! She wrote to me in April this year on my actual birthday. Nice surprise! 😊

Kudos to ICM for taking suggestions from the different chats and comment sections of their interviews. The Sikorsky in fire schemes is a rarity, and after having one fill from the Lake i used to live on, they are graceful in ways you'd never think. Watching crew training videos, so many dangers and risks from hatd learned lessons they have to account for. Fun fact, their particular paint colors can be seen easily by scuba divers as a get away color to avoid being sucked up by the pumps. Nevermind they ruined the fishing for a few weeks, the ability to dump that much water (or retarding chem added foams) in such precise areas as quickly as they do is a testament to the professionalism of her crews. One conversation with a load master after an appearance at nearby National forest fire, he explained that they even developed custom screens for their hoses dropped into the water so last maneuver before they leave is a reverse flush so they quit dropping fish on people and houses. Alligator Gar would actually try to attack the hose ring and clog the suction if enough were big. Not to mention plants. Great people and super cautious professionals. Had heard similar rumors that they wanted to see the earlier kits before giving ICM a 👍 with their designs, not sure how true. Several am looking forward to for sure.

The inline engines used on the Do 217 were DB603s, the same basic engine as used on the He 219, Do 335, Me 410, and Ta 152C. The BMW801s were in increasingly short supply as the war went on due to their use in the Fw 190A/F

Cool info. One of those 217s is on my list to get. I built the HK 1:32 Do-335. The engines came out beautiful. German WW2 history can send you into a deep rabbit holes. I love it! Very interesting stuff. JC : )

Hiya Jamie. Hope you had a great Christmas back in blighty. 😊 Really excited at some of these releases from ICM! The Hampden as you say, will be amazing! A decent Hampden in any scale is welcome but fantastic in 48. The Marauder boxing's are wicked and from reviews and builds I've seen, makes a lovely build and model. Most excited for the Henschal 129 myself! Both boxing's if I'm honest! 😂 I've got a hobby2000 version of the Hasegawa 48 scale kit but not built it yet. You say the hasegawa kit is brilliant? The Blackhawks will also be amazing! So much to look forward to, and that's just from ICM! Best start saving me pennies! Hs 129 did go to the Romanians. Finland got the Blenheim, not the Hampden.

The big difference between the B-26B and the F/G models is that the F/G had the wing incidence increased by 3.5°. That means ICM will need to have tooled new fuselage halves to do these versions correctly. Hasegawa did get this right on their 1/72nd scale kits. The Marauder Mk.III was used to designate aircraft from the F and G production blocks.

A Hampden in 48th is just under 18” wingtip to wingtip…. Very tempting but like a lot of these amazing ICM kits, probably just a bit big for my limited space. Holding out for Airfix to complete the set in 1/72 with the Whitley and Wimpey!

Based out of Bankstown Airport when i was living over at Holsworthy. Saw them in action during those bad bushfires in the early 2000s near where I lived in Holsworthy/Liverpool area.

Confirmed lover of rivets here! Though I love the Do-217, I prefer the earlier ones. Not into the BlackHawk myself. The Hampden is deffo get for me as well.

I'm a reader, not a modeler, but I'd love to know what French pilots thought about the B-26, seeing as those men mostly transitioned from the DB-7 or the LeO 451. Much less of a jump than coming from the Douglas B-18 like the American pilots did, and the LeO not having the sweetest reputation in its own force (directional stability being less than wonderful, or so I understand).

The Do-217 K and M are interesting as I built the Italeri 1/72 ones back....in the day! I don't remember which (maybe it was both) who could carry the Fritz X bomb....

Unfortunately Times are changing. Too much Big scale, colored PE, 3d prints... The end of tradicional modelbuilding is near. Wellcome to the modelbuying....😢
