We've finally got some good news about the progress with the repairs to my McLaren Senna! I totally agree with you about the average speed cameras Shmee. We also have a few in Australia and I can't imagine how you can be attentive and control your speed at the same time. Around 85% of all accidents are caused by inattentiveness. This may work if the speed limits would be reasonably such that people would naturally drive under them, however they are typically substantially lower than people can safely drive and so people are having to continually keep themselves in check.

I entirely agree on the speed discussion. If people were taught how to drive properly to begin with then speed limits would be irrelevant in most situations. If something like the advanced driving tests you can do were set as the minimum requirements then everyone would know how to gauge what is a safe speed for the conditions, so drivers like yourself could cruise in the GT8 at 100-120 mph when traffic is very light and weather conditions and the amount of daylight are suitable, but also ensure people know that when their visibility is restricted by thick fog, or when driving past a school at the start/end of the day, that they need to really reduce their speed from what the road would allow on a clear day and time of day. Speed matching in different lanes is extremely dangerous especially with trucks. Average speed zones force that to happen much more and for much longer than in regular traffic as you said. Any council or other group who says their speed cameras are there to improve safety is either clueless or talking out of their backside.

Does mclaren not have their own bodyshop would feel happier with repair if it was McLaren fixing it
@winorbin5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought as the car is practically new McLaren would be repairing it ?

The factory isn’t setup for repairs to customer cars, it’s a production plant. Once a car is built it’s generally left to the dealer network to repair. (I know McLaren do have the ability but it isn’t standard practice)

They dont generally repair in house although they did do Rowan Atkinson F1 but that was a massive job

Why didn’t Mclaren do the repairs in Woking, rather than a third party ?

I understand the factory does not do "repairs" They are not equipped for it. He has it at the "factory store" which is staffed by Mclaren and all repairs will be factory precise.

The Senna and the GT8 are my favorite cars in your collection. Two gorgeous blue cars. I'm glad the Senna could be fixed!

Great content Tim, Looking forward to seeing the Senna finished. My new car was involved in a non fault accident after owning it for less than 3 months and it is heartbreaking!

Nowhere else would an average car lover be able to see the innards of a Senna. This is an unfortunate incident, but wow, pretty cool to see the car and its parts.

That's pretty cool that they let you film the car in it's current state! Hope it gets back on the roads soon! :)
