Outline: 01:00 In Barcelona 02:00 Upcoming Shows Schedule 03:01 In Barcelona 07:12 Upcoming Shows Schedule 08:00 Kamala VP 19:32 Squad 25:30 UK Riots 59:45 Recession 1:08:15 Iran 1:13:24 Hamas 1:15:36 Ukraine Live Questions: 1:26:44 did you catch Larry Summers on Bari Weiss´ podcast? he was very positive and upbeat. How do you qualify his work as Treasury Secretary? 1:34:42 A quote from the novel version of Ideal I find enlightening "He thought that she was just a woman and an actress, but he thought this only before he entered the theater and after he left it; while he looked at her on the 1:34:57 The quote reminds me of all the people who read Rand and have a profound esthetic experience with her work but in the end don't have to courage to strive for heaven on earth and condemn ideals into the realm of distant hopes 1:35:56 As flawed as Reagan and Thatcher were, were they the first wave of Objectivism's impact? 1:36:53 Thanks for turning me into the dispatchtch magazine. I’ve been looking for a non Trumpy cons ervative outlet 1:37:28 Loved the "Beauty & Greatness" show! Great idea to turn off news once a week and focus only on Simone, or am art gallery, or put on three Beethoven string quartets and just listen, or read a book about heros in the past. 1:38:21 Can you expand a little more on what you were saying about a potential recession in the US? Is that a now thing or more of a long-term potentiality? 1:41:37 Why does it feel the world is getting dumber lately? e.g, short attention span, more tribal, angrier? Am I getting old and cranky or is there something going on? Or is it just the result of a long term trend? 1:48:55 Yaron the quote continues in two 10 euro questions I sent after the first 20 euro superchat 1:51:57 "screen thought differently; he thought that she was not a human being at all, not the kind of human being he'd seen around him all his life, but the kind no one ever knew-and should. When he looked" 1:51:59 "at her, it made him feel guilty, but it also made him feel young-and clean-and very proud. When he look at her, he understood why ancient peoples had made statues of gods in the image of man." 1:53:00 In N. Dakota during the oil boom before summer 2014, the flood of out-of-staters to the area for lucrative jobs was insane. Massive growth and prosperity locally. I was there. I am viewing this as an analogy to healthy immigration policy. Thoughts? 1:57:36 an argument for the free market for the anti-immigration crowd could be the a free market culture would select for people that would be productive and even reduce immigration if that supply stopped existing. 2:00:28 Well said but depressing. The excuse and belief in egalitarianism is destroying the West… 2:00:49 @maribbens: We need a powerful king in America who tells us what to do and keeps those damn immigrants away - they're gonna take our Hobbes!! 2:01:25 Whats your opinion of airline pilots? Productive members of society or just another overpaid union profession? 2:02:08 Wouldn't self interested people back away from fighting in wars unless you can't leave and your country is losing? Life over property. 2:05:00 How to deal with self-doubt and how it relates to the Objectivist theory of certainty? 2:05:42 I think Waltz hurts in Wisconsin among moderates. Particularly women who have republican husbands. Seems like he is viewed by moderates as exacerbating issues in Minneapolis. 2:06:18 Enough with the upliftingng news Yaron! 2:06:23 If you're corrupt it's impossible to resonate and absorb the Objectivist philosophy. And a solid majority of the population are corrupt. 2:07:16 Do you think almost getting assasinated shook Trump out of his narcissistic delusions, or is he too far gone? 2:07:49 Was Ayn Rand the only new source of rationality since Aristotle? 2:08:46 Is the right answer for the wrong reason worse than the wrong answer because you're covering up your lack of understanding? 2:09:21 Is Kamala Harris only going to gain more steam? Is there a 50% chance she'll win? 2:10:08 Does adversity not make you who you are, but reveal you to yourself? 2:11:11 Under laissez faire would most people be able to pay cash for a home? This 30 year mortgage business seems like a product of statism. 2:12:56 If you had to choose, would you rather live in Texas or Florida? And why? 2:13:44 A billionaire being interviewed said: "I don't think I'm better than you, I just want more out of life than you". Is this a legitimate perspective? 2:14:38 if Dems need to win by a large margin to defeat Trumpism, isn´t the corrollary also true, that Trump needs to win big in order to validate maga ideology? 2:17:05 Will Durant said "When Athens' most famous philosopher [Plato] could find so little to say for freedom Greece was ripe for a king." Could the same be said about today's famous Western intellectuals? 2:18:01 What's the cost of food, accommodation, or other stuff in Barcelona? Relative to The US or The UK? 2:19:23 As much as it will pain me to hear Kamala Harris's cackle for 4 years, it will give me a sense of Schadenfreude to see Trump lose to that bymbo. 2:20:41 Have you Heard of the B-Corp movement? if so what are your thoughts? bcorporation.uk/about-b-lab-uk/our-strategy/theory-of-change/ 2:22:12 Is the human psyche complicated and not susceptible to easy analyses? 2:22:44 Lucinda's quote reminds me of the look Wynand's valet saw on his face after he visited his art gallery: a look of suffering...but he looked ten years younger. 2:23:10 It's amazing how powerful Rands writing is even when in the form of an unedited manuscript she wrote at the age of 29 2:23:33 assuming a free/objectivist society, would deep, abject hatred for people who want to destroy your way of life be warranted? 2:24:05 Did you cover the antitrust ruling against Google? The irrationality of those laws and their disrespect for private property have struck again. 2:24:43 Where would the Republican ideology have gone had Trump been eliminatedted 2:25:26 What % of income does the average Brit spend on food? It’s an interesting statistic. Didn’t think of this measure until Tucker went to Russia and you pointed out they spent 30% on food over there 2:27:01 Do you think Trump and Vance can get along for 4 years? 2:27:20 Outro

It is untrue that there were no real free trade deals post-Brexit. The UK inked an important deal with a total of about 15 countries, as in the case of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). This is with fast-growing countries in Southeast Asia, and others, which contrasts with being attached to the sluggish and over-regulated EU. Yaron is, however, right to criticise the Tories for not grasping the chance to roll back EU red tape, although there has been some improvement. Alas, the Tories, and now Labour, are adding to regulations instead of cutting them.

I like what you said yaron when you said merely living is a not value worth pursuing. When i read Ayn Rand, and she's saying life is the standard or i hear you say live life with a capital "L" what i hear is an interchangeability in the words life and happiness. For an integrated individual life and happiness go hand in hand. Thinking that merely existing is a necessity is embracing the duty standard and viewing life as some sort of intrinsic value outside oneself and one's own happiness. That conclusion leads to life as a means as opposed to an end in itself. Very dangerous.

Yaron, you said only Trump could manage to lose to Kamala, and yet Trump beat Hillary Clinton- a so-called "policy wonk." Why couldn't he beat Kamala?

Instead of free trade deals, the UK could have simply done what the classical liberal reformers of the mid-19th century did, and unilaterally end ALL tariffs on imports and just as importantly, non-tariff barriers.

Yes, that's what people like Patrick Minford argued for and I thought he was correct. The problem in the UK is also not just with the politicians, but the whole government machinery (civil service), which is both anti-Brexit and largely anti-free markets.
