Due to CMON's handling of Fear the Unknown I'm not backing the latest in the series. I'll pick it up in retail 2 years before the backers will.

I'm still waiting for delivery of DMD season 1+2 and 3+4. So, it really sucks that CMON rushes out yet another DMD campaign instead of actually delivering paid products. :/

I agree. I've also heard that many retail locations have been restocked twice and Backers still have not gotten anything. I've only recently backed something from CMON but I was warned by many and honestly, it's probably my very last. I received my orders from Poland (different game) which were Kickstarted way before CMON and I've only gotten half of my CMON order. LoL.

It's not an "instead of" though-the people working on getting the games delivered are not the people working on developing the new game or crowdfunding campaign. CMON is hardly a one-man shop. It is annoying though, and I'm in the same boat waiting on seasons 3+4.

Launching a new CDMD crowdfunding campaign before most backers have received their pledges from the last CDMD campaign is completely tone deaf. CMON has been added to my list of will not back

@@mithrandir510 devil's advocate, the retail version is available at retail (unless a FLGS got otherwise). Backers get all the exclusives and whatnot. Still sucks that they haven't delivered yet, I'm personally still waiting too. They should have just waited a little longer before announcing.

It would be nice if CMON could finish delivering dmd season 3 and 4 (and marvel united) first. Kind of amazing that given how often they do this that they are this bad at logistics.

After last DMD campaign never backing CMON again. Could have got Fear of the Unknown from retail for lower cost and before the backers got their deliveries. Clearly CMON have zero respect for their campaign backers so nope from me.

Yeah, those KS exclusives aren't fully developed and completed by the time all the stuff is for the core (retail) game. Could they not produce and sell the retail until later to make some people feel better? Sounds like a terrible business decision but sure, they could. Personally, I'll wait for that mountain of exclusives but you do you.

Retail and Kickstarter games aren’t the same… cmon has TONS!!! of stretch goals. If you don’t want stretch goals go for it but I don’t mind waiting

@@UKDagnar I understand the frustration but it’s also apples and oranges. You couldn’t get the kickstarter bundle at retail, nor could you get it at lower cost. You can get the retail only stuff for cheaper but that is half the content…

I moved 3 weeks ago and emailed CMON to update my address. They told me its too late. So they haven't shipped yet, but somehow it's still too late to change my address. So I guess I won't be getting my $300 pledge for CDMD.

That's because the pledges get boxed up and labeled at the factory in China then shrinkwrapped onto pallets and stuck in a warehouse on a dock. It's supposed to be an efficiency and cost-savings practice which is ironic considering what CMON charges for shipping and how poor their distribution is compared to other companies.

Im excited for the new DMD. I missed the last 2 campaigns and have been thinking about getting it at retail but with CMON you pay more and get less at retail so ive been conflicted

The Marvel game is Marvel Invasions. They only shared a few pieces of artwork including Heroes and a Skrull character. The heroes are not chibi like in Marvel United (and anyway there was a Secret Invasion box for the system). I'd bet (I don't have any inside info, it is just a guess) on a variation of the Marvel Zombies - X-Men Resistance system centered around various invasions featured in the Marvel comics. So we could be fighting Skrulls or Chitauri instead of Zombies. They already talked about a core box and some expansions for Q2 or Q3 2025. We don't know if that's retail or crowdfunding, but I guess it will be the latter

The giant statues are a cool idea but none of them are cool enough to justify the space for me. I have the Joan of Arc dragon and that’s about the only giant mini I like enough to own. The Cthulhu is close but not enough for me to want to display all the time

I'll always be hyped for more DMD; it's one of the greatest games of all time. That said, launching a new campaign while the entire USA is still waiting for our pledges from the last one is terrible optics and definitely a feel-bad moment. The new MD is supposed to launch early next year; I really feel like the two should have been switched around and can't for the life of me understand why they weren't.

The Godzilla mini was a Comic Con expansion in 2024, and it's not a huge mini like Galactus.

@@oogiesmuncher Not true. Just because a board game has lots of miniatures, doesn’t make it a bad game. The amount of plastic in a board game has nothing to do with how good the board game is. However, miniatures and other 3D components add a lot of table presence to a board game and they can add immersion as well. CMON makes fantastic games and their enormous success proves that. CMON’s Cthulhu Death May Die + Expansions is one of the best board games ever made!

Board Game Geek must be a garbage review site then considering CDMD has an 8.2 rating and is ranked 57 overall. Suits me fine too, I've got some good memories of great gaming moments with CDMD.
