Alex Murdaugh sister-in-law saw odd behavior after killings: full video

Marian Proctor, the sister of Maggie Murdaugh and sister-in-law to Alex Murdaugh, testified about what she saw before and after the killings. He said a few odd things about the deaths of his wife and son, she said, including that his top priority was to clear his son's name in a boating under the influence case from a 2019 fatal crash.

Sadly. The elderly caregiver, a black woman testified while crying for over 2 hours and not one person offered her any tissue or a bottle of water. She sniffed and teared all over her face and no one cared. She took care of Alex's mother and was dedicated to that family. A sad reality.

Alex wasnt worried about finding a killer or killers, as he already knew there was not one, other than himself. He hid behind his grandfather's and father's legal reputations, and power in the community, and believed there would be no consequences for his behavior. He thought he had planned the perfect murders, to get his financial liabilities to disappear. He was manipulating people and events, to make it appear that someone else had done these evil and heinous acts. My heart goes out for the sister. Her emotional pain is palpable and genuine, as she relives the events. Murdaugh's 'tears' are nothing but props for acting. IMHO, he is a despicable murdering sociopath, and he DID think about doing this for a very long time.

My uncle was shot three times in the back. When our family descended on the town, there was not a place we could go without being followed by either uncles or the police. The uncles would stand by our doors at night making sure we were all safe. The whole town was scared. The fear was so thick. To not know who took your loved ones life is indescribable. @@zx208 Hahaha!! No. But he was being robbed of plants he had growing. He lived in a very small town that hadn't had a murder in 50 years. The way he had been killed had looked like an ambush and well planned out. It had unfortunately rained the morning he had been killed and it washed away the scent of whoever had done it. Later, the years to be exact we found out it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the killer had gone to great lengths to mask his scent. He walked for 2 miles through a creek and then another 2 through the woods. Anyway, between the police and my uncles during the funeral and the weeks after..... there was always some armed around us. My point in telling the story... or some of it.... was that when someone is murdered the fear is so thick that you welcome the added security. And him not wanting to make sure his other son and really himself were safe is very suspicious.

Of course Maggie did not deserve to be killed but from the Netflix documentary she was as ruthless as Alex in trying to protect Paul from being held accountable for killing Mallory Beach in the boat accident. Nor did she want that poor girl’s body to be found. No body; no crime. Maggie also was involved in helping Paul cover up wrecking his pick-up while drunk with his girlfriend. Maggie also promoted Paul’s underage drinking. She did not deserve to be killed but she was not a “special” caring lady. I feel one of the most obvious and important issues in this case, and one that really no one talks about, is the fact that Alex really wanted Maggie to go with him to visit his parents that night and she never went. I think that this along with the kennel video proves guilt. Maggie didn’t want to go according to her sister but her sister encouraged her to go. It’s so obvious to me that Alex lured her over to Moselle to kill her. The only reason she was there was to go with Alex and somehow Alex just didn’t take her with him..??!! Defense counsel tried to cover this (sloooooooowly) w/2 justifiers, asking her: (1) If it was unusual for “Elick” to ask Maggie to join him at Moselle (bc he didn’t like being home alone), therefore, that request wasn’t uncommon; and More importantly, (2) that, since her FIL *wasn’* in the hospital (he was home, unbeknownst to Maggie + her sister), there was no reason for her to go w/Alex, hence, he left her at the kennel w/ _PawPaw._ (bc she just loved those dawgs so much). AS IF that’a a good enough reason. The only thing I wonder is what did Maggie think/do when she realized Alex was going to his parents’ house without her. Didn’t she hv an objection, if that’s theE reason she went to Moselle. I’d think so.

The boys, Paul and Buster, were by many accounts two very spoiled and entitled boys. As well, Buster was tossed from law school after he was caught cheating. Paul immediately blamed someone else in the boat as the driver which was not the case. The video of Paul and his behavior when the police arrived ( night of the boat crash) is truly disgusting and quite telling as to his character. Also Maggie certainly doesn't sound like a compassionate soul in the 911 call regarding their housekeeper after her fall on their property which ended in her death. Her sister was married to a man she met and fell in love with who later and for YEARS struggled with opiate addiction. Which in turn affected the whole family and a ripple effect that no one understands except the close family who is dealing with it and the stigma surrounding. She was right also when she said Paul was misrepresented by the the media and the town scorned Maggie. Pretty pitiful if I ask me that most all of Paul’s GF and close friends lived off the fat of good times and the Murdaugh inner circles. Her testimony is so revealing. Alex was all up in these murders. I feel sorry for .Maggie’s sister. On the other hand I think it’s hilarious that she thinks Maggie didn’t lead a lavish life. People are actually deranged and love their pets way more than they should, in a way that is just desperate and unsettling...example: some people calling themselves "dog mom's" as if their dogs are on the same level as their own human children that they gave birth to! It is absolutely sick, demented, and very psychologically destructive to a child to have their parent drag them down and put them on the same level as a dog... it is really sick. People are obviously not going to mention the pets in a lot of these cases because I think it goes without saying that having a person pass away far supersedes the importance of a pet passing away. You can get another cat/dog or whatever and probably love them exactly the same as you loved the other one that you had, they can be replaced. But when its a human being that you love, it is far more heartbreaking because people are absolutely and totally Irreplaceable. So to show some respect, a lot of people mention only the human beings that passed away, because that is the real loss being mourned here and that is why there is a trial in court to begin with, for. the people, not the animals.

Detail from the testimony of the paralegal that worked for Alex and was the first to notice (and report) red flags regarding how he handled settlement money. He had _bought a boat with a loan._ Interestingly _some of the stolen money_ that je he redirected to a bank account in the small bank was also _used to pay down that boat loan._ Might have been the boat that Paul steered while drunk and then he killed the girl in 2018. Apart from the drug habit that was the most financially devastating thing for AM. And devastating for the family because of the events it helped to trigger. When her parents hired a lawyer for a civil lawsuit he then tried to write over property to his wife so the parents of the girl could only sue him for less - and Maggie in May or June 2021 refused to hand over the property that legally belonged only to her - he could not use those assets (that he had tried to move out of reach for liability charges) to quickly come up with millions. In May he knew it was only a matter of time before he would be busted, but if he could have come up with several millions he could have repaid the money, fulfilled all obligations toward clients and the lawfirm (he also withheld revenue from them) and maybe the lawfirm would have let him leave quiety w/o exposing him. No scandal, he would have to step down of course - and the clients would have gotten a surprise payment, but I am sure he could have sold them the lucky turn of events. He chose the clients he stole from well, no one had protested that they did not get enough or the believed the story that the lawsuit was not successful. So there was a chance no one would question or protest or suspect foul play when they unexpectedly would get 70k or 200k. Stolen money paid for the boat that cost his family (and the girl) so dearly. On June 7th he murdered wife and son. He (as the owner of the boat, and it either had no insurance or the insurance would not pay because their son was drunk) had a court date for June 10th, on which the judge would rule whether he had to disclose all his assets. This had to do with the private lawsuit of the parents of the dead girl, and I think they sued for 30 million USD. I think they really thought he was filthy rich. Alex had been busy since 2018 or 2019 to try and get as much as possible in Maggies name / written over to her - but that likely motivated him to kill her when the walls closed in on him in the lawfirm (January - May 2021). Shortly before the murder his wife had refused to allow him to sell property - that sale would have provide a few millions real quick. I think he realized that he could not continue to steal from the company, and that the crimes he had comitted so far would be detected soon. The spouses had a discussion / fight not long before the murder over the beachfront property (4 million USD), I very much doubt he had told her WHY he so desperately needed money. But she refused to sell it. She must of course have known about his drug use (for 20 years) - one more reason not to let him have more money - and she likely could not fathom how much he stole. Only a few days before her death she had confronted him because a charity cheque that she had written had bounced. In August 2021 (so 3 months after the murders) he had 4 million debt with the small bank and his chequing account was overdrawn with almost 400,000 USD. Maybe she should have gotten involved in the family's finances or should have added up ALL their spending and compared it to what came in (the legal money - she had no way of knowing that he stole and how much). Only - if she had bothered then she would have been surprised where the money for the boat or other loans of Alex came from (from the account that he had opened for stolen money). AM had opened a private account the "fake Forge account" (that mimicked the account of a legit company & business partner of the lawfirm = Forge Consulting). AM would wait until the paralegal that normally handled the larger settlement cases and the "billing" was not in the house and then order her collegue to finalize the cases and to split the money that had come in. What the client would get, the fee for the lawfirm, all the costs they had paid in advance, and often liens had to be considered (hospital bills, Medicare that had to be reimbursed if a client got a settlement). It was necessary to know such files well to not overlook anything, the ladies were protective of "their" cases - and from time to time a confused collegue would call her when she was not in the company, because she had been orderd by Alex to finish a file in a hurry, and she found the instructions of Alex unusual, could not understand some of the position (no wonder it was fraudulent) - Alex often ordered that shortly before 5 pm and preferably on a Friday when all the other staff and the other partners and financial department had left the company. AM also instruced his staff to write the cheques not to Forge Consulting (a legit company that they used from time to time when they set up trust funds for settlements in form of recurring payments instead of one lump sum) but to "Forge" (in the lawfirm they called that "fake Forge" during their audit because it really was a private account that AM controlled. The name was chosen to dupe accounting deparment when they wrote the cheques. And those cheques issued to fake "Forge" were not sent by mail (to the legit company), he always said he would meet their contact at that company for golf or lunch and would hand it over in person. Drove his staff crazy, AM had a reputation of being sloppy and disorganized, they feared he would lose the cheques. Larger amounts often more than 100,000 USD. Replacing such cheques is possible but it is a hassle.

The people of that town were mean and in compassionate towards Paul and his family because he was crass, unconcerned and didn’t take responsibility for that boat crash. A young girl lost her life because Paul was drunk. He put the lives of his friends at risk and didn’t give a damn one way or the other. Once Paul called his Grandfather and Dad after the accident, it was an event of deflecting from there on out. Put the blame on someone else except Paul. That boy never took accountability for that boating accident. The entire town saw it all and knew what trash the whole Murdaugh family was/is.

Not a lavish life style?!? They had two properties, the Moselle property contained a main house, a "cabin", a hangar for air crafts, several other buildings and a lot land. Than they had a house at the beach. All for of them each owned a car. Maggie didn't work, but still they had a house keeper. It is also said, that Maggie owned a diamond bracelet. I think for Mrs Proctor the above is not lavish, but for common people, it definitely is.

This judge is excellent in controlling his courtroom, and in making decisions on points they bring up. The lawyers bring up objections, citing what they feel is in violation.....the judge just calming picks each piece of the topic apart, and explains his basis for his decisions. Most court cases I've watched contains objections repeated approaches to the bench and no one gets to hear what is being discussed. This judge handles things so differently, and it really helps to understand what is happening at each moment. Maggie's sister is a great witness as well....she is an expert on knowing her sister and her sister's character. She was close to the entire family and her testimony about the subtle changes she noticed are coming across as credible and honest assessment. She is spot on.....Alex should have been focused on finding who did this, as it meant he and Buster were in the crosshairs as well. Yet, he was concerned about clearing Paul's name, which has nothing to do with the supposed brutal murder of his son and his wife. Concern with getting Buster back into law school?! Another non-issue which should have been the last thing on his mind. If Maggie and Paul had been gunned down by an unknown assailant, his focus in life would have been to find the killer and to keep himself and his surviving son and family safe until they found who did it. Yet, he was thinking about things that should not have been on his "to-do" list, at that point.

Her composure giving testimony about her dead sister is remarkable. When you think of yourself in her position you have to wonder if you’d get through it. Maggie’s narcissistic husband is the killer, to be sure. He has faked his way through his testimony, throwing speculation at the wall to see what sticks. He has admitted the dogs were not barking at an intruder in the property and the time line clearly puts him at the scene. I can’t imagine a creep capable of killing his wife and son to distract from his being investigated for his financial crimes. What is it with rich people who think they can get away with anything? He deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.

Everyone deals with death differently but to see it and for it to also be a brutal crime must be horrifying. I’m imagining it’s being put in a mental box to control the pain. KZbin has a former sex trafficked young woman interview that claims the catalyst for her escape from the Madame was the violent rape with choking she recover from Alex. The parties were alcohol and drug fueled and the former victims claims this happened 7-8 years ago when she was age 20.
