Sue never showed her age. She always was the lighthearted serious news anchor. Could deliver the news in a direct and serious manner, but could easily break out into laughter and giggles at the funny stories.

Unbelievably the police not only give the name but also the address of the sniper victim, meaning as he is hospital, his house is ripe for pickings.

Back in the 80s. Koch was the mayor he always was, there was actual reporting at 5, and the reporting was casual and relaxed. And the ads were better than the crap today (not to mention the prices!)

August 25th in NYC and the weather report is 75 degrees??? And they are talking about pollen count??? I think this was taken from a spring/early summer news report, not HOT August summer in New York.

Two things that support a late August date is that (1) one of the stories involved Cecilia Cicahan, the little girl who was the only survivor of the Northwest Airlines Flight 255 crash 9 days earlier and (2) it was around late August 1987 that Gary Hart (who dropped out of the race for President that May following the Donna Rice sex scandal) began openly dropping hints that he was considering resuming his campaign.
