@@AifDaimon you never really think about how Vandal Savage and Apocalypse are so similar, both are some of the first if not the first people to obtain Powers, both ruled over prehistoric man and dabbled with forces beyond their comprehension, both obtaining powers from things from Space, both have the view that only the strong should survive, and both are Thousands of years old.

For the record, Anubis wasn't THE God of death. _ALL_ the Egyptian Gods were "Gods of Death," Anubis just had multiple positions of responsibility throughout the process. I care because I actually worship him as an aspect of my own deities as a Wiccan. Its nice to see a character based around his schtick though that isn't an asshole and/or Satan-by-another-name like Hollywood likes to do it.

Most ancient African and Aisatic cultures do NOT have deities solely devoted to death, primarily because death is looked at as a part of life, which in most of these cultures is a cycle. Everyone and everything dies and comes back in some way, shape or form. There is nothing new under the sun!

Hela is the goddess of Death. She once took control of the Ghost Rider simply because he's a spirit and hence within her sphere of influence. This Death on the other hand, is an empowered mutant bearing the moniker of a horseman. I don't believe his ability would even work or cause that much damage to Hela. Plus, if she "dies" she returns to her domain, Hel, where she is supreme once again.
